hello everyone,
has anyone got advice on how to calm our dg 'eck' down? This is the first season for nell our bitch, it's now the third week and up until last night everything was fine, they could be seperated, and together things were just as normal (albiet the were never alone). But last...
we just recived a fab collar from australia, custom made from kangarro hide. very fast and excellent quality. the collar slip over dog head and is loose when not on a lead but gently get smaller when on the lead.
found on another thread, but contact details: lindameerman@hotmail.com
so sorry to hear of your loss. we have had two whippets now for just 7 weeks, eck was 14months when we got nell now 14 weeks. Whe we got eck we could have had two brothers from the same litter, but I was unsure as i really wanted a girl and I thought that having two from the same litter would...
Hi i recently asked similar advice re travle sickness, with really helpful links in the FAQ, but one thread i was reading suggested DAB spray, (available on line from VET UK), it was actually suggested in relation to another topic re thunder storms.
DAB can be sprayed into a travel cage, kennel...
we got caught in it, :sweating: we had both eck and nell out for their 'big walk' and half way through the fields we saw and heard the thunder, we turned tail and headed for home as niether of them had expeienced a thunderstorm before and we weren't dressed for rain but it caught us before we...
we recently got another whippet, mostly it was for company for our boy 14months as sometimes he seemed sad wondering about the garden on his own, :( the new pup has settled in beautifully, :D there is much more noise now,and they are truly like children as they want whatever the other...
Hello,
Our boy gets terribly car sick, he's been like this since day one, in fact the first half an hour in the car when we collected him and that was enough for him. :(
We gt him at 14weeks, he's now 14months, I've tried, homeopathic, stress remedies, taking short journeys, going palces he'd...
There was no qubbling with me on the price of our pup and we had to vaccinate and microchip her ourselves.
It is a very expensive and time comsuming business and I would think that this prevents people taking it up are a money making venture.
I feel a bit sceptical of this breeder as i feel her lack of advice in the first place has it's own consecquences.
I will search out a breeder who rep is second to none to get adivce on mating Nell if she should or if we will go down that line later on.
;)
the breeder might have known about your other dog but did she know you intended mating them at a later date?if she did and didnt tell you about the restrictions then thats unforgiveable.but did you make it clear about mating her to your dog?i think this should have been discussed at the time of...
Hello again,
any advice or tips on how to keeep the whippets happy when seperated from each other during the dreaded season?
we have two kennels but the runs back onto each other
both sleep in the house at night, when we are in, pretty much all the time really. -_-
Nell is ust 13 weeks and...

BUT the breeder may be right and your dog may not be suitable for your bitch. In that case it would be wise to listen to her advice ( provided she is an knowledgeble breeder) and use another dog.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i agree completely, that's why we bought two kc reg whippets, but...
if a potential buyer has a dog from another line and you are well aware of that prior to the sale, is it not also a responsibility to tell the buyer of the endsorsement, or refuse to sell them the pup as you want to keep control.
or would you sell the pups that are not 'keepers' without saying...
The breeder in question has contacted me, she apologised for not informing me of the restriction, but didn't think i'd be breeding the pup! she explained that it is purely to control the line. she assures me that there is in her opinion nothing wrong with Nell and will be happy to lift the...
I am new to the wonderful world of whippets, as an owner, although have known many through friends and waited until the time was right for us to dedicate our time to them. And i certainily wouldn't be able to look and see any obvious defects as described above.
But the scary thing is that...
They did ask me to sign transfer papers, but they said it was just change of ownership details? I did not read anything about endorsements or restistrictions and nothing was said?
thanks everyone,
I'll write to the breeder and hope that they are just away at the moment! but any other info or simialr experiences/outcomes are welcome.
if it turns out that Nell should not or cannot have pups then the KC reg is not an issue, but i don't think I'd like to bring...
do I have any recourse with the breeder? not to give Nell back, as I couldn't be without her now.... but we paid 'top dollar' for her and the breeder knew that there could be a chance of a litter way off int' future, as I told her all about eck and his pedigree.
Thanks for your reply,
what qualities do you reckon are regarded as 'good' and how will the breeder know this if they are not responding to me at this early stage?
We have only had her four weeks and it feels like we never been without her, we are all bestotted with her as is eck and she is...
