no john , the angry face you put on was because of your cocern that i had raced my dog without a kickboard ...WHY?... is it that you sidelined the reply because someone else who you know had also had there dog in with the greyhounds ?
i dont john but as a yearling he had about 8 races with the greyhounds when the bends finished just to get him some experience, like george with on the ball did...anyway why, and what is the angry face for..
i know my own dog, anyway he dont mind running with or without...fact is all the kickboard issue is because people are trying to get one over on the dogs they are racing against..thats it..same old crap.
my dog is as big as a greyhound jacks, but i have looked through the back door at him, and you can have a look too if you like, he is pushing against the front door, and no way is his feet anywhere near the back door, come and have a look at him and see.... same for all.

if top greyhound trainers dont use them, and the ngrc dont think that they would be of any benefit to the greyhounds in terms of reducing injurys, then why do we use them for our dogs to race off...
why not have a meeting without kickboards, and see how they all go..
and regarding your comment john, regarding the 16lb racers being at the back of the traps, lost,.. more like they will be pushing at the front when they hear the lure going past.going mental to get at it more like...
you know as well as me that if you dont use them, and somebody in the race does, then they are at an advantage..also how can you think that there will be more injurys without them, on what grounds can you imagine what will happen....if you look at it the other way, then think when they are...
not so for the sc dogs dave, more trouble than they are worth, i have always wanted rid of them..dogs dont need them, they will still trap fine, big or little, same for all....maybe a good idea to have a meeting without kickboards, and see how it goes...give them a chance....
its not just pups, its also mindless people that think they can turn up at a bend champ meeting with a dog that has never raced the bends, just straits..and normaly messes the race up for the rest...seen it often over the years.
