My thoughts are with you and Woody for tomorrow. My whippet, Delsi had a similar operation when she was ten and then again (different disc location) this summer. The first time she actually ruptured a disc and became quadriplegic overnight. I remember it was a difficult decison to make at the time, with a lot of friends and family suggesting otherwise... but it was one of the best decisions I have made so far and I am sure Woody would thank you if he could. Delsi just turned 13 last month. She still chases squirrels, plays with her two year whippet 'sister' and has a good quality of life.

Another thing I remeber that really helped Delsi during the rehabilitation process after surgery was hydrotherapy (luckily a friend offered the use of their hot tub as sessions can be quite expensive). She made quite noticeable improvements after only a few sessions.

Thanks for all your best wishes , It really helps to hear of dogs making a full recovery . John and Wendy Foster( His breeders and close friends ) came over yesterday and brought me a huge cage for Woody to go in when he gets home and needs to be kept away from his inconsiderate children etc :cheers:

I will keep you updated to how hes progreesing :luck: :cheers:

We will be thinking of you tomorrow..Hope all goes well...Below is a picture of Bandit and Rocket taken last week..Rocket the brindle whippet had a disc explode in his back and was unable to walk two years ago... after a major op and plenty of swimming and physio he is back to his old self of chasing squirrels and enjoying the whippet life of leisure.....
