dont think we wud have anyone left to run the rising sun when devon/scotland is on lol but terry does keep westerhope open 4 the likes of arthur as though he does go open racing hes doesnt travel, same with russ etc.

i agree all year round. wot wud happen if u race @ more than one club? wud u get an appearance on both clubs? IMO that wud b best. 4 instance arthur (again) races @ both the rising sun and westerhope he races 3 dogs @ each club so his may tie if u c wot i mean?

Think dogs should only score for one club, altho some do run at diferent clubs on different days its not fair on others who cant if one dog can rack up 3 sets of points every week in the summer as they have clubs that run both days of the weekend and some midweek.

I agree it could get out of hand, with some wanting to run mid-week or even Saturday and Sunday too.

Only one club to count, however many handicaps they put on, you will just have to encourage them to put on a few more if they only have a handful per year.

i think it will discourage people from running in handicaps rather than encouraging them. 4 instance just say i ran digga whizz @ both westerhope (on sat) and the rising sun (on sun) im supporting BOTH clubs BUT i can only score points or wotever @ one of those clubs,, then WHY am i going to race @ both? id just stick to the one im getting something for, get me? JMO

you could have 5 of each held on different dates and each club champion would be entered in to the sup club championship say at the bwra champs to find a sup club champ

it should only count towards a "dogs" (meaning bitches as well) score if they run at the club that they register through i.e. B.W.R.A. otherwise it would be a free for all!

Let's face it, there are some people who run at various clubs throughout the season, nothing against that, but if you're going to score points, then you should decide who you are running

for at the beginning of the season! At least those who are doing the scoring know what they have to deal with! Just my opinion! X :wub:

im a member of both north east clubs but if im only gaining a score 4 the one im registered thru then id only run @ that one meaning id b discoraged from racing @ the other one. wot about maybe a regional points/apperance thing??? so if i decided 2 race @ north yorks then i cudnt score i cud only score @ the 2 north east clubs?

(w00t) you're quite right, it is confusing, I don't know how "they" would keep track of every dog running in every club race in the country! It would be a nightmare!

"They" would have to trawl through Whippet News reports, K9 posts etc., Let us not forget, that not every race appears in W.N. or on K9. So what then?

I'm all for whatever we can do to help it along, I'm just glad it won't be me doing the calculations.

see what you mean, its beginning to look like it could be worse for some clubs than better if club members are going to be discouraged from racing for the sake of picking up points at a sister club. thought the initial intention was to try and find ways to support the clubs I am totally against any dog or club member being discriminated against just because they go open racing lets face it the majority of us do, whilst still supporting our clubs by racing mid-week

yes i agree with u linda. mind i cant go midweek racing but run the h/cap whenever i can. anyway regardless of wot happens with this ive got some ideas for our own north east clubs which i will bring up @ our agm.

im sure some kind of club champion or club top ten cud b sorted out with a load of careful thought.
