I Have just found this item for Sale on Ebay :0

Surely this is owned by the club and has not been handed back !! ???

WCOS Trophy

Perhaps Someone on the board is a commitee member and can rescue it. :D

Please let me know what happens If any thing

Ive just rang Annette Skelley W Cof S secretary and Vanna`s mum ,she says it has been missing for years ,!!! We`ve got 3 days to get it back . some one has not been honest have they?

Why dont you write to the person selling it via e/bay & let e/bay know that it is a stolen trophy that is being sold and they will remove it from sale?

worse case is make sure you're the highest bidder! :)

Ive contacted the seller to ask if he knew it still belonged to W C of S and he said no_Offered him Annettes phone number , will see what happens next!

I have also informed Ebay that a seller is trying to sell something that does not belong to him,

Oooooh whippet trophy theft, Well spotted Claire!!!

This is good news , But is the Club getting it back ??

Hope there is a happy ending ......

Has it been withdrawn?? It looks like bidding ended but the reserve was not met. I hope they do get it back.

The part of me that likes to believe the best in people would like to think it was something someone found in an attic going through 'grandmas' stuff.

The bidding was due to go on till Tuesday so wether my contacting W c of Scotland sec, the seller ,the bidder or Ebay has anything to do with it I don`t know, lets just hope the trophy gets back where it belongs :0

That sounds promising then. If eBay had pulled the auction you wouldn't be able to find it - they delete it completely from the system - so obviously the seller did. Here's hoping it makes it 'home'.

Mum has asked me to reply for her, as she has difficulty getting onto K9 Community.

Thanks Jax for alerting her, and to everyone else for their help. The Club is on the case, but at the moment don't know whether they will be able to get the cup back. It doesn't look like deliberate theft as the last person to win the trophy died a couple of years ago. Just before it was withdrawn, the reserve had gone up dramatically. (Perhaps the seller realised how old it was!)

it's a very nice trophy for any club to have lost and I dread to think of it's worth to replace.

hope you get it sorted.

Thanks Vanna , Surely Ebay could help as the seller has/had quite a few items for sale. I email him to ask if we could please have our property back but havn`t had a reply!!

Hi there guys,

I`m the Whippet Club of Scotland Trophy Steward and have been in contact with the seller of the Dunglass trophy for the 5-6 days trying to resolve ths problem.

He bought it at a public auction because it is silver and by the looks of the other items he is selling I think he deals in the metal. I have had regular correspondance with this seller and we are trying to resolve the matter. The reserve was not met in the auction but I`m trying to work out how we could get the trophy back but without the seller losing out after all he did pay money for it.

The person who won this trophy died and her son got a house clearance, these goods were probably taken out and put into auction and from there who knows how many hands it has been through, just because we have clocked it now doesnt mean this seller is too blame.

I will try to resolve this matter with the comittee of WCOS.

Thanks to the people who have shown a vested interest an who have picked up the phone to tell us the sighting of our trophy.

I found the item on ebay would have bid for it but is the wrong time of year, ( not as flush as I would like)

I would be happy to make a small donation to help get your trophy back

Regards

Claire

Who needs detectives when you've got eagle-eyed K9'ers on the case?

It really would be a good Christmas present for the club if they could get it back.

Hi Emsie

How much is he wanting? Did you claim off your insurance ? If you want a donation I`m sure some of us would be will ing to `chip` in. I certainly would as it was the W c of S who gave me my first club show. :D

I agree with Jax and I would make a donation too if it helps get the trophy back where it belongs.

It is very generous of you all to offer help, but, wait for it, they want £400 for it! I think it may be put in the hands of the police as no one has the right to offer it for sale anyway. We will keep you posted.
