The Dog Cafe

I thought my coffee tasted funny this morning. I'd put yoghurt in by accident.

Not recommended.
Ah...get it down! ….grows hairs on your chest... ;)...o_O...

I had actually drunk it all before I realised. It wasn't too nasty. But the second cup with proper cream was much nicer.

I supposed it is bit like having old milk in it..

I couldn't help but chuckle myself of how life does goes on in circles.
When I was a nipper, me and my sister always waited patiently to clean the bowl when ever mum was making a cake.
She would always leave a bowl 'to lick' for one and equal amount of the cake mix on the spoon. And we would check carefully that neither would get any more than other :D
Now when ever I'm mixing some egg food and baby bird feed powder for our zebra finches, that mix does smell delicious...just like came mixture and both dogs are intently following my every move. And yes, not all are for 'zebras'...each dog gets their lick...one gets the bowl and other the spoon and they LOVE IT! :D:D

I've got question to ask..
What part of cow's innards look like blond pine cone 'scales'?
I'm not usually a wimp when it comes to chopping 'body parts' or meat in general....but what I saw on the surface of the beef chunks that I thawed for girls supper make me feel all yucky. There is no good night kisses for tonight, that's for sure.....Yuuuuuuck!

Or could it be tongue (taste buds) or hair follicles? Though the hair follicles would presumably on the other side of the skin, which would be used for leather...

Oh how I'm loving the images I'm googling right now.....

LOL....and I did have to google some images too....and YEP, you are correct, tongue it was indeed. Now I've cooked tongue before but I cannot remember ever seeing such a sight. Well, one is never too old to learn something new ;)
Now that I know it is tongue, the sight doesn't have quite so strong effect anymore and I will give the rest of it for the girls tomorrow. They loved it though
cow's tongue surface - Bing images

Woo hoo, I won! What's the prize? :D

Cooked tongue is delicious!
One day perhaps try an old Uzbekistan recipe - while radish thinly sliced and cut into long thin strips, onion fried in oil to golden brown, mix all this with mayo and sliced cooked tongue... salt/pepper... some folks add chopped boiled egg, others add parsley.. some use sour cream instead of mayo - it comes out a bit healthier this way, but with a totally different taste (not quite as good IMO).

Yes, it is..although it is rare occasion that I eat it myself and even rarer that I would cook it. But when I opened the frozen 'beef chunk' packet for the dogs and thawed few bits, those 'taste buds' that was sticking out of the meat surface looked really off putting. I ain't gonna get any tongue for myself in a hurry for sure! I let dogs can enjoy their meat instead.

I found the idea of tongue horrible even when I did eat meat and I think I've just worked out what it is - we don't tend to see hearts, livers, etc. in live animals (unless it's a grisly medical programme), but we're all familiar with what they look like and what they feel like.

Not that I'd have eaten heart or liver either, I was a fussy child!
