Ah...get it down! ….grows hairs on your chest... ......I thought my coffee tasted funny this morning. I'd put yoghurt in by accident.

I supposed it is bit like having old milk in it..I had actually drunk it all before I realised. It wasn't too nasty. But the second cup with proper cream was much nicer.
What part of cow's innards look like blond pine cone 'scales'?
LOL....and I did have to google some images too....and YEP, you are correct, tongue it was indeed. Now I've cooked tongue before but I cannot remember ever seeing such a sight. Well, one is never too old to learn something newOr could it be tongue (taste buds) or hair follicles? Though the hair follicles would presumably on the other side of the skin, which would be used for leather...
Oh how I'm loving the images I'm googling right now.....
YUUUUUUUCK....OH NO, luckily it wasn't that bad!Is this what you saw
.
Yes, where else you could ask such a question!?Only on a dog forum could that be seen as a perfectly reasonable question!
It couldn't be the tripe could it?
A chunk of tongue for you MadamWoo hoo, I won! What's the prize?
Yes, it is..although it is rare occasion that I eat it myself and even rarer that I would cook it. But when I opened the frozen 'beef chunk' packet for the dogs and thawed few bits, those 'taste buds' that was sticking out of the meat surface looked really off putting. I ain't gonna get any tongue for myself in a hurry for sure! I let dogs can enjoy their meat instead.Cooked tongue is delicious!
One day perhaps try an old Uzbekistan recipe - while radish thinly sliced and cut into long thin strips, onion fried in oil to golden brown, mix all this with mayo and sliced cooked tongue... salt/pepper... some folks add chopped boiled egg, others add parsley.. some use sour cream instead of mayo - it comes out a bit healthier this way, but with a totally different taste (not quite as good IMO).
