I saw an advert last night on the internet for a 5 month old whippet bitch puppy and yippee I thought, she could be the perfect new friend for Busta. (w00t) I somehow persuaded my other half James that Friday nights were perfect for 4 hour round trips to look at dogs, :- " so off we went. Well to cut a long story short we bought her....but she is a mess. So frail, so thin, lethargic and is pooing water, has been sick 3 times (just water) and hasn't eaten or drunk anything. I felt so sorry for her. I know that's not a good reason for buying a dog but I just couldn't bear to leave her there. She's such a sweetie. I'm taking her to the vets at 9am to get her checked out. I'm just praying she hasn't got anything seriously wrong with her. I'm such an idiot :( She has been living in outbuildings on her own with no coat, she was covered in fleas (thank god I had a stock of Frontline!). Look at the mess in her ears in the pic below.

Here she is, her name is Chloe.

The silly thing is I paid more for her than I did for Busta who is a proper KC pedigree and in perfect condition! I haggled them down a bit but didn't want to annoy them so they wouldn't let me have her. I just couldn't bear to leave her. Just off to the vets now. Fingers crossed.

:( aww gawd bless her little heart shes gorguse ,well done hun for not leaving her ther :huggles: good luck at the vets to let us know how you get on ,why ooo why have a daog if your not going to care for it and give it the love it needs these people need shutting in a shed on ther own and starved see how they like it

HI

I must admit I wouldnt of been able to leave her there in that state. Common sense would of told me not to touch with a barge pole but she is so sweet how could you of left her. :huggles:

With luck the vet will sort out the medical issues. Time, love and decent food will put the weight on but you may have a problem with the shyness. I am assuming she hasnt been very well socialised so you will have to do this for her but gently so not to frighten her.

Did the place you got her from have any more dogs? If so I would take plenty of pics of her and contact the RSPCA. People like this need stopping. I was going tosay something else there but might get banned from the forum

Good luck with her, Im sure she is going to be lovely and a fab pet.

oh my good shes lovely

but what a shame cant believe some people

sood luck at the vets today let us know what happens :huggles:

oh how awful to see her so thin and neglected - you are an angel for rescuing her - so glad you have photos of her and i hope you report these people it really really makes me sick to the stomach - i agree with nicky - punishment ought to be like the crime - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh      .

its hard though to get any reaction from organisations though but hopefully your vet will second you with a report of how bad her condition is.

sending healing thoughts to her from me and mine

she is such a beautiful baby

well done girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(just a thought if you paid by cheque you could cancel it?)

i truly believe that some dogs are meant to be owned by some people and i think its fate you have this one im sure she will turn fantastic for you, good luck

What a state that poor girl is in :( - but I'm sure in your capable hands with lots of gentle tender loving care she will be a different girl in a month's time. :huggles:

As for the people you got her from  - they certainly need to be reported - appalling abuse to have left her in that state  - and the fact that they actually wanted money for her is beyond belief!

:( what a terrible state she is in   i look at our 5mth old pups and find it hard to believe that anyone can stand by watching an animal slowly starve to death in front of them

:luck: :luck: hope all goes well at the vets

and fingers crossed she settles with your dog :huggles:

I'd like to echo all that Beth has said. Get her checked out by the vet and then go forward. She is lucky in that she has you now to love and care for her, but it beggars belief. In the last two weeks we have seen first hand what is happening to our beloved breed, it's the dark side of breeding and I don't know what the answer is well I have ideas, but I don't know how to stop it happening.

Exactly Jenny

Thats awful I dont know how these people have the nerve to openly sell a dog in this condition, I too would not have been able to leave him there, :( which is obviously a bonus to the seller  its a shame a big aggressive bloke didnt answer the add he might have got more than he was asking then :- "

I too would report it did you see the other dogs he had?

firstly well done you for getting her out of such awful conditions - with a trip to the vets and heaps of love, food, warmth and attention, all will hopefully be well x

secondly - CONGRATULATIONS on owning such a beautiful blue

Chloe is beautiful  - even in her current condition - and she is so lucky you found her Vicky. With care and love I'm sure she'll forget her horrible start in life and become the perfect companion for Busta and pay you back with daily whippie cuddles

Good luck at the vets :luck: :luck: :luck:
