Ok, so to qualify this first, I have sore eyes because I got sunscreen in them earlier.

But in photo 2 I thought OMG she’s eating one of them!!!

Beautiful.. It still amazes me that something so small can grow into something so huge in quite a short amount of time in the grand scheme of things! Just lovely...

Oh her face....I have had those dogs with her face.....how absolutely magical it all is....a miracle every time.

Sadly one male and one female pup passed away yesterday and it wasn't one of the last 4 born ....all the others are doing well....keeping everything crossed for them ...xx

So sorry to read that. Poor mites. Fingers crossed and three Hail Marys that all the others fare well.

Oh, so sad to hear that also. Everything crossed here too that mum is ok and the rest of her pups do well...

It'll be a lot easier on Mamadog with fewer pups. It's still a very big litter. One of the reasons some animals have lots of young in one go is to allow for this. It isn't nice to experience for us humans, but littering animals can be quite laid back about it. They don't mourn the ones that gave up: they concentrate on the strong and healthy.

Time was that breeders would cull down a big litter. People would be horrified now, but it's not such a dreadful thing if looked at pragmatically. Probably the ones that died had something wrong with them. Terribly sad to witness, especially for us humans programmed to have young in singles, but perfectly natural in the world of animals.

Sykes is 25"tts and weighs 20.1 kgs ....he is still a lovely pup...
