Latest update - Max had a 3 and a half hour operation. They removed 5mm of the ulna to get at the radius which was totally shattered. They have ataken a bone graft from his shoulder and fixed that to a plate and screws to hold the radius in place. He is still out cold on pain meds and has his leg in a splint. In theory he can come home tomorrow night, depending on blood supply to the leg etc.

He's coming home tonight at about 6pm. Apparently he has a sort of blowhole in his head where there is a cut over one of the fractures and as he breathes the skin flaps up and down! :x They didn't want to stitch that cut but did some of the others. He's got a plastic splint on and is walking on it so I've been told.

Max has got a shiny new bandage today. His leg wound is apparently healing well but he has some other sores on his skin from the bandage rubbing etc - but they should go away soon. Stitches are coming out next Tuesday.

I'm so glad your poor boy is getting better. I said a prayer for him. What a dreadful thing to happen- I worry every time my Breeze charges up and down the stairs because greyhound legs look so brittle. Lots of love to the invalid.
