Huddersfield - 2 Whippets Stolen

The strange thinbg is my vet would normaly send them off to the dog warden or Manchester dogs home? what made him ring me rather than do what he'd normaly do?

Glad she's back home, it was a wonderfull sight she ran straight passed open doors straight into the living room jumped on the couch and curled up? not even a goodbye kiss from her  :(

unfortunatly the area she was hit by the car is right next to an estate that holds a lot of ? well people you wouldnt like to meet on a dark night should we say. so the chances of seeing/finding the older dog is probably hopeless.

Wish i could have seen the re union Mark, I must have just left as you arrived.

Many thanks to you and Paula and of course your vet

I've not stopped smiling today  and I'm sure the owners will be too

brilliant news well done to all

nice to have a happy ending

The possitive side of the internet.

without the internet I doubt this dog would of been reunited with its owner/breeder just shows used the right way the internet & especialy K9 can be a fantastic possitive tool.

off to see my vet later and give them the full story.

i'd just like to ad that at no time has my vet mentioned money for the treatment he gave Jill while he had her there after her accident (2 nights) so not all vets are money grabbers

How utterly fantastic. That is an incredible story and I am so pleased Jill is back home where she belongs. Well done Mark and Paula, and your vet too :huggles: Also well done to Jue for being eagle-eyed

I have always been a big believer in fate and in this case everything just fell into place, when Pennymeadow saw the pics Mark had took he said striaght away it looks like Evies mum, get in touch with Julie, the minute Julie saw her she was off like a rocket to the owners with her lap top, unfortunatly in her rush she forgot the cable and had to return home to print out the pics and then take them back, in the meantime to the dog was curled up on Kierens bed, and the minute we said JILL she jumped off the bed and came running with her tail wagging, we put her in the van and set off, when we got to the house the minute she heard the owners voice she was like a little puppy, it was so pleasing to see, who knows whats been done to her over the past year, shes definatly had pups and not very long ago looking at her, she"d dried up but was still very flabby, but she knew exactly where she belonged, thanks to everyone who put the pieces together so that Jill could return home to her family.

it is fantastic reading what happened when she finally got back home :D thanks mark and paula for sharing those details with us its too good for words ,but its sad to think what happened to the other :(

 I'm thrilled Jill is back -- what wonderful news. I hope she hasn't been too traumatised by her ordeal - I'm sure with love and attention she will make a full recovery. :huggles:

Thinking of Tallulah. :(

That's brilliant news! Well done Mark, Paul & Jue and everyone else concerned

Its one of those happy endings that always make me cry. I just wish the older one could be found too though. :(

The thing is "Jill" was hit by the car around 1.5 miles from our house, we often drive past/through the area she was found but have never noticed anyone walking a whippet like her around?.

so she must of either been kept in a garden/shed as she hasnt any muscule tome and maybe escaped from where she was being kept or maybe she was dumped in that area after she'd served her use ie: produced a litter for them?.

we'll obviously keep our eyes out for the other bitch as will our vet but seeing as "Jill" may have been kept only 1.5 miles from us for over 12 months and we never saw her the chances of seeing the other one must be very very slim, but as this case proved not impossible.

Another worry is that someone who steals dogs lives so close to us?

Maybe you could re-poster in that area get a lot of word out that one of the stolen dogs has been found. If someone still has the older bitch she might become too "hot", or someone may of seen her or know who has her?

My vets agreed that should anyone contact him regarding "Jill" he'll pass them onto me (without telling them about her being stolen ect) in the hopes we can find out if they were the ones that stole them or if they bought her/them in all innocence?.

Sadly Tallulah is still missing :'(

What a fantastic ending - Jill must be so pleased to be back with her rightful owners - I bet it was a real tear jerker seeing her react to her owners voice  . Very sad however that Tallulah has not been found :( It sounds very much like both bitches were stolen to breed from - also it just goes to show that you never truly know who you are living by.

Thats the worrying thing, :( if the people who had Jill live near to where she was found it isnt very far from us, it definatly looked like poor Jill had at least 1 litter while she was missing, :( so she could of been stolen to breed from, not seen any lurchers or whippet type pups advertised locally though.
