what a beautiful girl.poor thing, hope they find her soon, her owners must be frantic.

I hope they find her soon. It makes me feel sick, seeing her lovely face in those pics and thinking that she isn't with her family :(

:luck: :luck: good luck with your search hope you find her safe and well soon.

Thankyou so much for the good luck wishes. We miss her desperately, we had two sightings of her the day she went missing in nearby village Kings Walden, both people nearly managed to catch her but then both times she was spooked by a car & sped off. We have searched so much for her & but no one has seen her since that day (28/01/05).

We bred Luci and also own her mother, brother & sister; plus her best mate a JRT named Moxi. They all miss her, we want her back so badly but its been over two weeks now I don't know what else to do. Just keep putting up posters & pray we get lucky. We are sure she must be stolen now. If anyone lives somewhere in our area (we are in Herts but close to Luton), you can print off her poster at the below link. We would be so grateful if people could put up the odd poster or two. She is quite distinctly marked, please keep an eye out for her.

Thank you. Yes it is so awful the not knowing, always wondering where she is, if shes okay, if I'll ever see her again. I had no idea about the amount of dogs that go missing/are stolen every day, it's terrible. But I would just like to praise all the dog forums & missing dog websites, I gave my details to just a couple of websites and I'm constantly finding Luci's details on so many sites! I even did a google search on 'blue brindle whippet uk' and Luci's missing details came up top on a site I'd never seen before! It really helps me keep positive about finding her and I'm touched by everyones sweet comments.

Some children told me today that they saw Luci yesterday in the lane behind my house, and then again today in the woods opposite my house!! I couldn't believe it, I searched all day until it got dark but no luck. I find it very strange that Luci could possibly be that close to our house without finding her way home? Every time I take Luci for a walk I start and finish the walk on that lane, she definately knows her way home. And the woods opposite she knows so well & definately could get home. I went through every square inch of the wood. I think it is very weird, but she must be so weery & dissoriented that she can't remember her way back - it has been two and a half weeks. I put up more posters & will search again tomorrow...*fingers crossed*

:luck: :luck: :luck: Good luck in finding Luci, hope you have better luck today.

Wish i could do something to help you, fingers crossed and good luck again :luck: :luck: :luck:

If she is that close, can you leave a gate/door open for her to come into your garden or house. She will probably come back when she feels it is 'safe'. Either that or just stay in one spot, where you let her off the lead/put her back on, she may well keep returning to that place.

Good luck. :luck:

Thanks Dessie, yes I've made sure Luci can get home - front, back or even the side way. But as I sort of suspected yesterday, I think the kids have got it wrong. I saw one of them today whilst searchig the wood and asked him where exactly he saw her & was it definatly Luci (yesterday I had the message passed on & didn't get full details). But he said she was very far away & they couldn't see properly, he said it might have been a deer! You literally can't walk through that wood without seeing several deer, and if they weren't sure whether it was a deer or a whippet wearing a blue coat I suspect it would have been a deer.

And on the day the other child saw Luci on the lane, my brother was out walking Luci's sister Bella down the lane. He had her off the lead whilst walking (its an extremely quiet lane & you can see cars coming from a long distance), and Bella & Luci look very similar (both blue brindle & white with very similar shaped markings). It's likely the girl saw Bella & maybe didn't notice my brother nearby.

Of course I could be wrong, and I hope I am. I was convinced that Luci had now been stolen. I re-searched the wood, plus walked our most regular walking route & will search again now til it gets dark. I told our neighbour about the news (who walks his 2 black labs on the same routes as we do) and straight away he looked like he didn't believe it (without me giving any indication that I didn't think it was Luci). He said he couldn't believe that Luci wouldn't be able to get home from the two places mentioned. Luci's walked those routes hundred of times. Also I would have thought if she was in the village more people would have seen her. Everyone's on the look-out for her, we have dozens of dog walkers & ramblers in the village.

Anyway, I'd better get out & look some more.

What a horrible rollercoaster of emotions you must be on... :luck:

I know cats are different but mine went missing for 12 weeks no sightings or anything i think she may have been taken in for a while then when she felt confident enough found her way back home,it may be the same for Luci, I just wanted to give you a positive thought to keep you going hope it helps,

No luck today & no one has seen her. I was so excited yesterday, I really thought Valentine's would be the day she came home. :'(

Thanks again to everyone for their lovely comments :)

Will keep you all posted...x

Oh I do feel for you so much, I have had cats go missing for a couple of weeks before and it is dreadful not knowing what is happening to them. :( :(

Very best of luck in your search :luck: :luck: you are doing all the right things - the more people who know about Luci the better, and we often hear of dogs turning up even after months, but I really hope that it will be very, very soon that your lovely little girl will be home with you again. :luck:
