Harri the Welsh Terrier's Diary

A very dull start to today. Mum got up much earlier than usual but said I had to stay home because I couldn't come to "the hospital" (?) with her. I just went back to bed :(

When she came home she said it was too cold and wet for a walk and maybe later.... I was soooooooo bored but every time I found something fun to do Mum stopped me saying it was naughty. Eventually she gave in and took me anyway :)

It was a bit cold and wet to be honest and very very muddy. Mum said those words she said when the car broke when her welly came off in the mud :p. We didn't see any of my friends. Mum muttered something about their owners having more sense....

I had to have a shower when I got home - I hope it's nicer tomorrow

Nothing like a hard day at the seaside to make you appreciate a tasty pigs ear on the sofa! Mum says I look like a proper terrier now (even if she doesn't think my tail is quite right - what's wrong with my tail??? It works!).

Someone did say I looked like a teddy bear though. I think it was meant to be a compliment! :p

I've been really busy this week. After playing at Weston super Mare beach last Friday I went with Mum to stay in South Wales for the weekend so I got to play on Llantwit Major beach too. It was great. Lots of water to splash in. Mum said there was an earthquake whilst we were there but I didn't feel the earth move - I was too busy playing with a broken tennis ball that some other dog had abandoned on the beach. It's the best ball ever!

Mum brought it home to throw it away rather than leave it littering the beach but I wouldn't let her. I got it out of the bin and I'm keeping it! I played with it with Mum for ages this afternoon.

I'm not sure why she finds this so amusing?

Is sounds like you had an amazing time! :)

Did your mum feel the earth move, Harri? Which isn't something I'd normally ask somebody when they came home from their holiday...

Haha - actually no I didn't. I was really disappointed given how close we were to the epicentre! The first I knew of it was checking my newsfeed when walking back to the house. People inside buildings seem to have noticed it whilst those of us outside remained blissfully unaware.

The most grubby of toys always make the best ones don't they Harri!

Dennis stayed with his grandparents on the weekend and they felt the earthquake but thought that it was Dennis up to mischief upstairs :D:D:D

I'm so excited today. Mum just told me that her friend who I stayed with is getting a dog of her own. I'm going to have someone close by to play with and go for walks with. He arrives on Sunday and I can't wait! Mum says we need to give him a few days to settle in before we can visit though:(

I've been looking out my old bed and my old harnesses and lead for him to have and my puppy playpen that I don't use any more. Isn't it lucky that Mum took me shopping this morning for a new collar and lead? He can even have my old squeaky chicken - it's my favourite toy! (Note from Mum - he isn't being that altruistic! We also bought a new squeaky chicken as he's de-squeaked and ripped up the old one)

(Good luck Harri's mums friend!) :) What a great friend Harri, giving away your bed, harnesses and lead! You will probably be best not to chew up this chicken, because you don't know how many more chickens your mum will buy you! Olive would love you so you can chew up squeaky chickens together! :p

I had to go to the vet yesterday and again this morning as Mum is worried about me. I don't think I like the vet any more as she shaved a bit of my paw and stuck a needle in me :(

I've got to be kept warm and quiet and not allowed to go for my walk - I really want to though. I've been helping Dad in the garden today but it's not the same.

Mum keeps feeding me bits of fresh cooked chicken and scrambled eggs though so it's not all bad and I was very good and took my tablet even though she did try and hide it in some peanut butter :). I've got to go back to the vet on Monday though so they can try and find out what's wrong with me

Oh dear, Harri:( Have you got a poorly tummy? I hope the vet (who is lovely really, honest) can help you get better again very soon xx

Feeling poorly isn’t great is it Harri but it does come with some perks :)

I would never have thought this, Fingers are crossed and paws crossed its nothing to worrying. It could be gastroenteritis. I really hope it is only an infection! :( poor Harri get well soon :(!
