How did this country end up with so many uncaring, selfish, rude and violet people

What's so wrong with being violet? I used to have violet hair I'll have you know!:D

But we've always had uncaring, selfish, rude and violent people - that goes without saying. And they're more noticeable now partly because they can't (yet) go to pubs, restaurants, shopping centres, etc. so are more concentrated in places they can go. Just as managing crime effectively is part of the government's job, so is managing social situations. Governments can't ignore criminals' actions just because the criminals are ultimately the guilty party.

So we may disagree on whether the government are taking the right steps to address these problems, but if they aren't making efforts to do so then they are blameworthy. If you get food poisoning in a restaurant, the chef can't say that it's not his fault and the bacteria are to blame.

This government is just so laughable, they say health is our main point!! Is it hell, boris is so far away from where us the normal person is at at moment, opening up pubs is so laughable as we’ve seen on beaches, but everybody is doing there thing he says, laughable,,

opening up pubs is so laughable

You don't think the sort of person who is desperate to go to a pub the moment they reopen is the sort of person to behave responsibly and keep their distance, then? ;-) I'm just glad the pubs aren't allowed to open at midnight tonight, or a good half, probably more, of the people going would already be tanked up. But it's OK, Boris says they can be trusted....

Our next door neighbour is an 88 year old widow, she complains of being bored. She has an easy garden to look after that many would love to have, yet other than cutting the grass she does nothing to it, and she complains of being bored!!
Tomorrow she has been invited to go to a pub where she obviously has friends and knows the landlord, she has said that she is going.
Just how stupid can this OAP neighbour be, she is a very touchy huggey type of person, her son lives in the same village and she is quiet happy to use the bus to get around, we have a local co-op shop that sells everything she needs.
We are OAPs too and take great care to keep ourselves distanced from her!

I don't think she understands just how dangerous the corona virus can be, not just to herself but to anyone else she may have contact with. PHEW:rolleyes:
Look out everyone who is going to the same pub tomorrow!

I have a lot of sympathy for old people living on their own who are bored stiff or losing their marbles - maybe they think that with the limited time they have on the planet, they might just as well go out and enjoy themselves and not worry too much about the consequences. But as you say, she's putting so many others at risk too.

My 81-year-old mum is going out the the local shops occasionally now, but being sensible. I told her a few times in the early days that if she fell ill, she'd get shoved to the back of the queue for ventilators!

Got another one for you , I’ve not been to our town centre since March lockdown, not because of my health but also got a mum who’s 86, so today I went down which was strange, in Sainsburys and waiting to pay and a elderly man say 70 having a right moan about Nicola s making us wear face coverings from Monday, he told the checkout lady it’s mad and it made his glasses steam up!!! What the hell is this man on! I shook my head in disbelief, truly that’s a true story right infront of me today,, lads and lasses this is what we are up against,, sad sad times,

Lurcerman, I wear glasses and need to wear them all the time and yes wearing a mask makes them steam up. So what do I do? wear a mask and stumble around as though I am in a thick fog or take my glasses off and stumble around not seeing anything clearly.

Biker John,, you find a god damm way round it instead of Moaning ,, if you wanna do yourself in go find a bridge but hey don’t take me with you cus I ent dieing just yet,, I thought it was a very poor excuse, think of the majority, selfish people like that I can easily call murderers, makes my blood boil,

That is a good thing! Ventilators are not helping! The increase in O2 exasserbates the virus I believe! Anyone on a ventilator is unlikely to recover! :(

Last Thursday 19th March, I found the early/first hour of opening at our local Sainsbury's was very useful for us oldies to get some shopping, without the hustle and bustle of crowds rushing to see what they could quickly grab and stock up with!

I completely understand how some of the NHS staff are also finding it difficult with their shopping needs.
Sainsbury's have now announced that their opening hours are going to be from 8am to 8pm daily, with Monday's, Wednesday's, and Fridays having the first hour allocated for the elderly, disabled, vulnerable and NHS workers and social care workers..
My worries are that we, oap's are being invited to knowingly mix with front line NHS staff:eek:
Am I worrying about things unnecessarily, and making mountains out of mole hills.
Front line workers at times do get reported for dying of the desease they are helping to control.
Am I completely "out of order" for thinking this way:oops:

Aww! The whole thing makes me sick! The handling of this has been disgraceful from start to finish! I don't think any of the decision makers have 1/2 a brain cell between them! They reduce the opening hours from 24 hour opening and cram people together in shorter opening hours - THEY JUST LOVE IT! This is all about who can make the most money I think! NO ONE cares about the people! Matt Hancock nearly chocked on a laugh in the early stages when giving a presentation to the nation! Fauci, Gates, they all want removing from the planet! How on earth that is ever going to happen I just don't know! Gates put 43 BILLION Quid in the pot to start the - I dispair! I'm a nurse and definately unhappy about the undercurrents on this one! :(

Terry7, yes of course bungling boris and his advisors blunder things on a day to day basis, people moan I don’t understand and squirm round the rules, but hey is it really that hard to understand the word pandemic? We are a split and at times very spiteful uk, doing the right thing is to have respect for the ones who are mainly at risk! After all without there sacrifice in the war many young of today would look very different.

Here's a tip for ya @Biker John , put a small amount of washing up liquid on the tip of your finger. Now rub the liquid onto the inside of your glasses lens. Rub until it starts drying then wipe with a cloth. Your glasses won't fog up now.
What I do to stop my bike goggles steaming up on the bike. I also do it on my glasses at work and I've no problem wearing my mask.
You could be posh and go to the local motorbike shop and buy the anti fog spray.
