My racers have all been lure coursing and they all loved it (apart from Inca who is a bit to bright and just waits for the lure to come back round :b )..........We were thinking of going to the July meet if you want to pair your 2 up with my 2

It looks such good fun  Can you PM me directions too Jo? I don't know if we'll get there in July, but maybe September
Tis dun hun

Could you do that for me too purrrlease Jo :* :*

Thanks for that Beejay, no I didn't realise that! They have both run on our own lure we use down some fields and they are okay on that (but its basically straight) my recent problem is Stan uses the opportunity to bite Archie on the bum (w00t) And not sure how they would be with muzzles on ... but we'll see!!

No, one of the nice things is they don't have to be in the same class. Ours ran with Digger last time, even though Digger was in class 1 (just under 2) and ours was in 3 (at nearly 6), and their scores weren't far apart.
The only thing I wonder about is dogs getting lure wise - did you notice how the Basenjis always anticipate where the lure is going and cut the corners? I think a bright dog would cotton on to this and do the same after a few meetings. But good fun for them anyway.

Oh, more great pics  OH is gnashing teeth and saying 'we need that new camera'  :- "

Oh do I know what classes you were both in Elizabeth. My Mouse and Woody were 2nd to both of them.

Bean's terrible for cutting the corners. He did that from the 2nd time that he went lure coursing. At Radway he was matched with an equally cutting the corners dog. Demented was a good description of their courses but they did enjoy themselves. Interesting to watch two dogs who've never run together before learn fast how to work together. Of course I blame Dessie's black dogs for the problems. Hugo is the son of one of them and Bean the grandson of another. :b

Bean actually also cuts the corners off when bend racing. He comes out of the traps and jumps the fence straightaway. :b

A step by step account of archie and star's race:

Us next

back they come over the brow neck and neck.

Star takes the corner wide and allow archie to snick in.

whoosh, they come past me looking really focused.

Those are such good pictures     I am definitely going to try and go to the JUly one, its at the same location isn't it?  Mine would be in the same class now so they could run against each other
Jo they don't have to be in the same class to run with each other. In fact it would be better if you had them entered in separate classes so that if you were lucky you could win both of them. :D

Well unless they've changed the rules this is correct. Dessie anyone?

No they don't need to be in the same class to run together, just need to be the same breed!! You don't have to run your own dogs together either, if you find someone else on the day that has a multitude of dogs there (like me!!) you can always swap pairs. Nor do you have to run the same dogs together morning and afternoon. Basically, you can do more or less what you please!! Also you do not need to run them in muzzles but, if one is muzzled, the other ought to be. Unless, I suppose, like my Angel would run in a muzzle for a specific reason (to stop her hoicking up the pulleys!! (w00t) ) there would actually be no reason for her partner to run muzzled.

Brilliant photo commentry of the race Lloyd :D

We are def going to the August Hill Sprint and the September lure coursing again.

It's addictive (w00t)

Actually looking at those pictures again (and again and again  ) they ran really well together didnt they?

Totally focussed on the lure and no messing about with each other. And we were worried they would stop and 'hump' on the way round

They looked great together Rae and did very, very well. Nicely matched.
