    Waterproof trousers help!

I was given as a gift, a pair of Barbour waxed over trousers about 30 years ago. I felt very enclosed and restricted in them and found them very hot, (they will keep you warm and dry ) and will last a long time.:)

    Mucus Poop

I can't remember the last time we had a mucus covered poo. I never worry about it and life just goes on as normal, whatever causes it in our case has never been an on going problem! As mentioned by JoanneF, Natural "live" yoghurt is a good suggestion, this can also be used as part of a daily...

    Dog and pond

Livestock electric fences do not involve wearing a collar. The fences are battery powered, not mains.

    Dog and pond

Phew a tricky subject!:rolleyes: Our lot know full well what happens when they touch an electric fence that is switched on. They will not go near the fencing that shocked them for quiet a while, if they were standing close to one of us at the time we will get the blame. However they do...

Is this a wart (papillomavirus) on my dog?

I think you are doing exactly the right thing with the bathing and anti bacterial powder. It sounds like the sort of thing I would do.

Breeder suddenly wants dog back, advice needed.

I think that knowledgeable legal advice would be the most sensible way to go !

    Crufts

There is often quiet a difference between the "Working" type and "Show" type of many of our dogs. The Show types are very pretty in most cases but many have some of their features over exaggerated which makes them "not fit for purpose", they are supposed to be "fit for purpose", so what a...

What do I look for in a good vet

Try looking online for small practice independent vets or just independent vets in your area. I do not like these big practices where you never get to see the same vet, each vet has a different idea and then takes another pocket full of our hard earn't cash, Hmm  We are lucky where we...

    Crufts

Am I getting over critical now ? Did anyone notice the Wire Haired terrier tonight that won the terrier classes. It has a strange movement in it's back or back end when trotting in a straight line. Almost as if there was a twinge of pain somewhere. Maybe it was just the angle of the camera.

    Cocker Spaniel Litter mates

It may also be more sensible to wait for the first puppy to grow up a little before you consider another puppy. And maybe 2 of the same sex would be more sensible. We have 2 x 5 year old Cocker girls that we kept from a home bred litter (working type) They have grown up together...

I'm thinking of going to Crufts, still worrid about Covid.

I am making do with the TV coverage, but unfortunately this is no substitute for the real thing. I know that I have made the right decision and do not regret not going. I have found in the past that going when you have a friend exhibiting a dog, also makes the whole experience far more...

    Crufts

I noticed that one too Judy. One unfortunate problem is that, having won "Best of breed" at Crufts, and to get as far as they have, people will be wanting to mate their bitches to them or if it is a girl, they will be placing orders for their puppies:eek:

    Crufts

Yes I think his back end looked awful!! with a very uncomfortable action. (poor thing) Was that put in as best of it's breed ! ? Added; I have just watched it again on channel 15, it does not have a very straight action and it appears to throw it's rear foot out and round before placing it...

    Multi dog family

I long for the time when we are back down to a 1 dog family, or maybe just one dog each, =2 A, 1 to1 relationship with a dog is the best :D

    Multi dog family

Ours will all walk out together on their leads but normally we load up all loose into the car and unload into our field and then walks are on the south downs. All dogs are loose and will walk with us if we request (which is most of the time), If we have a girl in season and we see another dog...
