It's a shame that smaller rescues couldn't have a reciprocal agreement to do a home check on behalf of a distant rescue given that they are all working to towards the same goal. The "instructing" charity could provide a check list of their requirements.
As a lot of them seem to be Uni students I would really expect that to be the job of their tutors! I certainly remember being taught how to produce an effective survey as part of my degree.
I find a lot of them surprisingly poorly structured. I would have expected the posters to have been given some guidance in how to word a survey in a way that you get meaningful data but it doesn't look like they are.
I give up on a lot of them as I can't select an answer that is actually true...
Just hanging out!! My father was sent on a sabbatical to Sri Lanka so we spent a couple of years out there. I wasn't madly keen on the tree frogs either.....
About 20ft and I still wouldn't be happy. I remember a pub in Farnham had a tarantula in a tank by the front door. I went in once, turned round and came straight back out again. I never set foot in there again.
I can just about tolerate a money spider but anything larger and I'm out of there (I...
Can I post you Harri to train? He knows what he is meant to do but whether he does it depends on whether he wants to or not. You can see him stop, think about the options and then do whatever he wants! Even sausage, chicken and cheese are not high value enough in his universe to get him back if...
I am so sorry about the loss of your dog's brother.
I've looked at trackers for my little wretch and concluded that they were unlikely to work. They aren't good in remote areas and don't work well in woodland which is my prime concern. If Harri scents a deer or rabbit he's off.... We lost him...
Dry them out thoroughly and then sprinkle with bicarb and leave for a day or two. Repeat if necessary. Then hang on your cloths line in the sun and wind for a bit :)
I'd ask the rescue if he is crate trained first. I only used one when Harri was small, it was retired at about 10 months old as he really didn't need to be in one.
If you do decide to buy one they are easy to get second hand
I don't see it as that simple - yes breast cancer ( and pyometra) is a significant concern but:
What about the increased risk of heart, spleen and bone cancers in spayed bitches? The doubling of risk of urinary tract cancers?
The huge increase in risk of hypothyroidism?
The risk of spray...
I'd be surprised it the nettles had stung her paws. Tummy, yes possibly if she has much exposed skin but most of it should be protected by her coat. Traditional cure is a rub with a dock leaf but actually plantain is better ( and is really common).
It wasn't something prickly like brambles...
I've been ever so worried all week.
I heard Dad tell Mum that there was no more tuna cake in the freezer. That is terrible. How can I go to my doggy class to become a Silver Dog if I don't have any tuna cake to take with me?
There's a nice smell coming from the kitchen though now- actually...
