Will a dog let themselves starve out of stubbornness?

When I've had a problem with them eating I'll put 3 or 4 dessert spoons of veg soup on their food. Coat the food with it to give it a different taste. The next day I'd use the source from baked beans, then back to the soup. I also feed less but 3 times a day. Hopefully it gets them back on their food.

A spoon full of suger helps the medicine go down so to speak. Its worked for me in the past.
Hope you can work it out.

Are there any human foods that you can try that won’t upset his tummy? When Lily wouldn’t eat ‘doggy ‘ food we tried a little spaghetti bolognese and she actually ate it, not sure if it has the wrong ingredients for Den though ( might have missed it on previous posts ;)) I feel your frustration :( I was getting so uptight when Lily wouldn’t eat I ended up letting hubby feed her so she wouldn’t get the ‘annoyed’ vibes from me :( you try so hard to remain calm as if you’re not bothered if they eat or not but it doesn’t work :(

Yes that’s how I feel right now! I get annoyed with him out of frustration and it does neither of us any good!

I’m going to try some vegetables to begin with.

we’re very nervous to try too much because when he was at his real low he was doing a lot of accidents in the house and we really don’t want to go back there again :-(

I suspect you will have to find more of the playful discoveries how to fool his senses in future  It is what it is and there is not much you can do about it other than get along with it.
It is very trying for you but if you can the find right frame of mind, it just comes kind of routine.
If you drop piece of food on floor 'by accident', is he keen to take it without you noticing it? ;)

Depends what mood he’s in! I do try and pretend he’s getting something he shouldn’t but I think he sees through my poor acting skills :D
