Whos Dogs Sleep Upstairs...??

we all fight to see who gets the pups on our beds ! i think its great fun to have them upstairs. :huggles: :huggles:

Mine sleep with me, the hairy lurcher sleeps on the bed and the whippet sleeps in the bed under the covers with me. Im considering not doing it anymore as lucy does have some seperation anxiety and I was told having her in the bed isnt helping things but its so nice to cuddle up at night and she keeps me warm

I live all on one level, so of course the dogs come to bed with me!! Trouble is, I have a single bed and Twiggy grows extra legs in bed, so she is only allowed under bedspread (on top of duvet). She and Polly have a sort of relay system and change over every 3 hours or so, but occasionally one won't shift and I end up with them both in with me -and sometimes I give up and roll out into the big dog bed beside mine and sleep in their bed!!

I do have a bed in the spare room but if I go in there I'm soon followed - and there isn't a dog bed to roll into in there (w00t)

Our dogs sleep in the bedroom where there are 2 perfectly good dog beds for the lurchers & Rafferty bedlington has his own quilt under the dressing table (in the bit where the little stool is supposed to go) he likes small confined spaces

Hebe & Scrumpy usually end up on the bed though at some point during the night.

Rafferty is now banned from being on the bed as he gets very territorial about it & has growled & even snapped at me a couple of times when I tried to get in

He used to be allowed under the duvet which was lovely in winter cos he's so warm but I'm not risking losing a toe or two if he gets grouchy in the night. Neil could risk losing something worse depending on where Raffy was lying :- "

Sometimes I've woken up in the night thinking I'm parylised from the neck down only to find it's Hebe lying with her head across my neck & Scrumpy across my legs

If we left the dogs downstairs at night it would be chaos as the cats are in the kitchen & the dogs would bark everytime one of them came through the catflap.

mine all sleep downstairs as 7 is to many to have in bed!! they have their own beds and two sofa's to sleep on!

my older whippet had always slept with me but when my daughter was about 4 months old she stopped wanting to come up to bed with us, im not sure why she chose to stay down with the others but we think she got fed up with the baby waking her up all throught the night   and although we laugh about it i was a bit upset that my old girl didnt want to sleep up stairs anymore :( bethany is nearly 5 now and willow has still never wanted to come back upstairs!!!

all my dogs sleep upstairs but they do have their own crates ie one big crate for the whippets and one small one for the yorkies.

When OH is away with work or out on the beer I do tend to have them in the bed with me. We all snuggle up and get comfy. :huggles:

All of mine definately go under the covers too, there is no way they would settle for anything else!

They do love their crates tho and have been known to get out of my bed and go into their crates during the night.

yea mine sleep in and on the bed, ecksey who is greyhound size!!!! sleeps in the middle of me and OH, on the top of the covers with his blanket covering him, and teazle sleeps around the pillow area, either in between the pillows or with her head on mine, but usually under the covers, we bought a super king size bed so we could all get on, bless them, i wouldnt have it any other way, i cant sleep unless they are there. they also have their own single bed beside mine so there is a bit more room,x

minne lacey ruby and talula and Ninny sleep upstars lacey with alexs minnie on the bed seete in alexs room talula on the chare in my room and ruby at the bottom of our bed then niny comes along and hits you on the head for hours till you lift the quilt up and she can snugle under the bed inbetween us :D indy milo boris and cally all sleep doen stars on the sofas but thats only becoues they never figured out who to get upstars and i said no dog up starst and non in the bed or on the sofas when we first got one

I have loved reading this, loads of happy snuggly, farty duvet-hogging dogs

Mine only sleep upstairs if theyre ill, they prefer under the throws on the sofas.

Loved the "Poo on the Pillow" that was so funny !!!!

Have to admit - poo on the pillow might be a deal breaker for me too!

Max sleeps on the landing most nights although he can sleep wherever he wants and Tiny starts off on is duvet at the bottom of the bed and then moves on to my bed. During the day Tiny has the bed to himself!

Mind you Tiny has got megaesophagus so it makes it easier for me to help him swallow if he is on the bed! :- " Who am I kidding, he'd be allowwed on whatever!

Bluebells sleeps by my feet or in the crook of my knees, under the duvet every night! She has done since she was 4 months old - sometimes she wakes me up panting (w00t) but will not come out from her warm space - I think she may have to give in when summer comes!

Ours don't come upstairs...mainly cos we have no stairs!! (w00t) (w00t)

Seriously though, they do sleep in our bedroom but not in our bed as there are 13 of them!! we have two huge crates in the bedroom and the boys all go into one and girls in the other...it can get a bit smelly in the middle of the night sometimes though, depending on what they have been eating! :x  :p :teehee:

If I have a nap in the afternoon they sleep on the bed with me or if hubby gets up early for work they come up and have a sleep and cuddle but they don't sleep on the bed at night as there would be no room :- " as soon as you move they are like water and fill the space :)

I`ve loved reading this too !!! All my dogs sleep in the kitchen in their crates at night...errr......Except my pup Cassie......She is straight into bed under the covers waiting for me to come to bed.

She cuddles up to me and goes straight to sleep while I am reading....Then I lift her out and pop her in her crate for through the night when I turn out the light ! I`d love to have all five of my dogs in bed with me and all my rats if I could......What could be nicer !!!

I was ill for a long while and often in bed......Always with one or two of the dogs !! They helped me get well again. You can`t beat doggy company to get you back on your feet !!!

I think that people who let there dogs sleep upstairs are just disgusting!! They are animals after all and should sleep on cold floors outside in the back yard chained to a wooden kennel!!

Oh and with regards to the above here is the proof!! :- " :- " (w00t) (w00t)

As if I ever could, look at that face.

No, my two sleep downstairs in their crates, which they love!! Dolly sleeps in her snuggle bed (thanks to Debs!!) and Mojo has his fleece blankets which he loves making a pillow out of ontop of his bed and falls asleep with his fluffy plush lobster!! Dolly is always in her snuggle bed in the morning when come down and i have to open it to get her to come out!!

Mojo has never tried to come upstairs at all and whenever i go upstairs he lays on the bottom step until i come down!! :)

When we are camping i bring their beds, but they loe sleeping between me and Jayse!

I think if i lived on my own i would have them in my bedroom.........just to make me feel better!!
