Stumbled across this forum, and wondered if any Iggie owners could give me some advice. We have a 9 month old IG and he is an absolute star.... however I wonder whether I should be worried about his eating habbits. He's a healthy weight, but he never eats much at breakfast - sometimes a mouthfull or two and sometimes nothing at all. Should I be encouragning him to eat breakfast or does it not matter.

Also, he has never been given titbits or human food - only gets treats as part of his training, or for good behaviour - yet he scrounges ALL the time when people are eating. He'll try and jump up at you. We just ignore him, but it doesn't stop him at all. Anyone else have this issue?

hi and welcome to the forum!!!

we of course insist of pics of your ig , it is the law of k9 im afraid lol :p

i have a whippet puppy who at just under 6 mths decided she was a big girl and ould only eat once per 24 hrs !!! she was recovering from being very poorly so i wasnt happy with her weight and this was the last thing i needed so what i have been doing to cooking chicken or lamb and hand feeding her , sounds a pain but my efforts have paid off

why not trick little one into thinking its yours? have a plate on the side and pretend its yours?? i wouldnt worry too much if a healthy weight anyway though tbh?

Hi and welcome!

i feel every dog is diffferent in their eating preferences - some will scoff and others pick!

as long as the weight is good as you say i wouldnt worry!

hugs to your iggie

He has never been a big eater and struggled when he was very tiny and on 4 meals a day even though the meals were hardly much themselves.

Posh Totty - I've tried to add a picture but it keeps telling me I can't, even though the picture is only small.

hello and welcome

i dont have a iggie, i have a whippet, she doesnt eat breakfast either, just dinner and is fine

get yourself a photobucket account, download your pics onto there and then copy and paste onto here..........easy

I dont have iggys :( , just whippets.

I have2 fussy eater's and 2 who would eat me out of house and home, but still pups. I feed both pups, 3 times a day,,they eat everything I give them  , but the older 2 eat when they like. Breakfast is put down,,,if they dont eat it,,they still get a dinner at 12 and a tea around 6pm,,,most of the time they eat it.

If your wee dog is a good weight and running around as normal and happy,,,,dont worry
