I lost my whippet in a tragic accident just over 4 weeks ago......I am now without a whippet :(

He was my bed partner when I slept alone :)

I even put the electric blanket on for a few minutes to take away the chill for him ;)

Although I have my other mutts....boy do I miss him :(

Oh dear I'm so sorry that you have lost your whippie hottie tottie.

I couldn't imagine life without a whippie hottie tottie. Methinks that you need to get another one. There is nothing quite like a whippie snuggled up close. Tonight when one of mine pushes me to the edge of the bed, and I find that they have hogged the duvet as well and I'm clinging onto the matress with no duvet over me, instead of telling them off I'll remember that I might not have one doing that.

There is nothing quite like that furnace that is a whippet snuggled up next to you under the duvet when it's cold. You need to get another one. You are clearly missing being a whippie slave.

I know exactly how you are feeling :( :(

Maybe when the time is right you will get yourself another whippet :wub: :)

I'm so sorry, that must have been devastating. :'( :'( :'( There is nothing like a snuggly whippet on a cold winter's night, you must miss him terribly.
 
Oh Im so sorry for your loss, :huggles:

I joined this forum in 2004 when I lost Chip my beloved whippet...we got him when when our daughter was 3 and he was 12 when

he left us. I was whippetless for around 8 months then found Oscar through this forum...I now have 3 whippets... :)

It was quite a miserable 8 months I can tell you, but Im sure when the time is right for another Whippet you will know... :thumbsup:
 
Hi! I lost my beautiful and beloved Torri whippet 1,5 month ago. I know what that mean lost the best person in my life. I can't stop crying after her :( (( This is very hard and sadnes time in my life. She was with me 11 years and cancer took her ..... I feel sorry for everybody whom lost dogs....

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.

I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you so softly as you brushed away a tear,

"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea.

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore.

I longed to take your parcels, I wished I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care.

I want to reassure you that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.

I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.

I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.

To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...

In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over now ... I smile and watch you yawning,

And say, "Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,

I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out ... then come Home to be with me.

If there are no whippets in heaven, then I'm not going.

I lost my beautiful boy on 27/10/09, i woke up in the morning and he was snuggled up to me as he always did, but he had passed away suddenly without warning age 3, things were starting to get a little easier until i called greyhoundcgap about rehoming a puppy last night. i was asked a lot of questions which bought all the pain back to me, then refused to rehome another dog because i have one which has not been neutered, because i've never felt the need, he's not aggressive or bothered about the ladies. it's difficult enough to come to terms with the loss of a pet due to old age, but to lose one suddenly and unexpectedly is almost to much to bear! our home is described as 'doggie heaven' by the rspca homechecker but they have no young whippetty types, but if you have a doggie home then it needs to be filled with dogs! my other 2 dogs also miss their playmate. Life's a Bitch but we'll come through it, and i don't know about you but at least i'm doing my bit to help the recession by keeping Kleenex in business!

I lost my collie at 4 years old, no reason that could be found - she just laid down and died, so I know how devastated you must feel :(

It's hard to rescue a dog these days, I have tried too and been rejected because I let my whippets chase rabbits.

My Jinny helped me to get through losing Fizz, and although I still cry and miss her so much, I have new purpose in life with the whippets who now live here.

I know I could never find another Fizz, but I wouldn't be without any of the others either.

A little whippet who needs you will come your way when you least expect it ........... hang in there, and hugs to both you and jeanyg :huggles: :huggles:

oh jean i am so sorry having lost my daisy suddenly at on 2 years old i know how you feel but please do not beat your self up accidents do happen it will take you a very long time to come to terms with it i still miss daisy nearly a year later i think i always will give that lovely affie boy bramley of yours lots of hugs he must be missing him to hugs to you all xxxxxxxxx
 
So sorry to hear your sad news. I nearly lost one of mine aged 18 months in a road accident. Against all the odds she made it so I can imagine a little of what you're feeling. Perhaps after a while another little whippet will be lucky enough to find a place in your home and your heart.

Thank you so much for your depiction here. I am so sorry for your aching loss of your beloved Torri.

You're right, if there wasn't hope, there wouldn't be anything.

oh i do love this poem :'( could i please save a copy of it?

i am so very sorry for all of your losses. Cant imagine life without any one of my girls :'(
