Hi everyone,

Just thought I would tell you a little story.......... I have a miniature smooth haired dachshund named Toulouse(after the sausages not Lautrec!!)who at 3 years old had the typical dachshund back problem and was paralysed in July last year. We woke up one morning and he was paralysed it was awful. We admitted him to a clinic in Fakenham Norfolk where they operated and after a fortnight he was allowed home. His recovery was slower than expected and it was very sad as he was such a young dog. Whilst he was recovering we heard about a dog living locally in a less than ideal situation he was a 7 month old black and white Bedlington X Whippet . Both parents of this dog have been shown and excelled in their fields and he was bred apparentley by accident.... to cut a long story short we decided to rehome him. Toby the whippet x. The first time he met Toulouse just lay with him in his basket with him he was so gentle and calm. The road to recovery for Toulouse was much shortened by his new friend and Toulouse is now running and playing just fine ( if a little pigeon toed) Toby helps Toulouse into bed over hills/logs and any other obstacles he lifts him up and carries him if he needs it. Toby is a wonderful kind gentle and placid animal without him we think there is a chance Toulouse may still be soldiering on with his recovery.Has anyone else found this the way with this cross are we just very very lucky.

 It's really nice to see your two lovely dogs.

The link worked fine, but if you want to post them directly just click on the img.no underneath [it will then say copied] then just paste straight on to the message space on your post. You don't need to use the attachments at the bottom if using photobucket.

cheers

Pauline
