I'm from the states, and 6 weeks is a common age to take on a pup from it's mother. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I guess it would depend on how well the individual pup is developing, but it sure wouldn't do them any harm to give them a few more weeks with mom. Just adding my 2 cents.
