Whippet/bedlington Wanted

Hi, our dear 12 1/2 year old whippet died earlier this week and we are now looking for a Whippet/Bedlington bitch (pup or under a year old) to keep our other two (4 year old Whippet bitch and 7 year old Greyhound/Collie X bitch) and us company on the sofa :huggles: , in front of the fire and on long walks.

 

We live in Canterbury and are willing to travel as far as necessary if the right dog comes up. Does anyone have any names of reliable breeders where we can join a waiting list or of a rescue pup in need of a good home?

If you look through this lurcher thread there is a section somewhere about Bedlington/whippets quite a lot of people want one and no wonder they are lovely little dogs. Also Moriarte whippet dog has mated a Bedlington bitch so might be adviseable to get in touch with her. Good luck in your search.

I also know that Battersea Dogs Home had a 10 week old black lurcher pup needing a home (had been thrown out of a car)

You could also try Evesham Rescue Org as they specialise in lurchers and greyhounds.

Really sorry to hear you have lost your friend, it's heartbreaking I know.

There's quite a few pups to rescue on www.lurcher.org in Homes Wanted & altho I haven't looked recently www.dogpages.org normally has a few.
