Hi.
Dribble is 3.5 months old now so once off the road will follow along within a few metres off the lead.
I'm using these walks to improve his calling him to me using the technique of calling him with my hand in my jacket treat pocket, then just as he reaches
me I hold up a flat hand with the command "SIT". The two together and he gets a treat. :)
As he gets older I'll use a whistle and do it from further away. :):)

However, there's a fly in the ointment.

If he finds a rabbit seat he gobbles the poos like it's a bowl of kibble.
Dirty little devils these dogs. YUK

Think of Dribble when one next jumps up and licks your face.

There's worst things they like to eat,at least it's just grass.

Bunny kibble is yummy! (Says Jasper, I haven't tried it myself...)

Mine loves to eat any kind of bird poo or vegetarian poo, so cows, horses, rabbits etc. She'll also eat the occasional other type of poo but not often.

Did you want to know how to prevent them doing it? Teaching the 'leave' command is the only way that I've found to be half-effective (there are plenty of videos online), but to be honest, I've found it's pretty stressful to be shouting leave all the time (my dog ignores me unless I shout REALLY loudly and then I get funny looks), so as long as it's not making her ill I just let her eat it. If she eats a fox poo I have to brush her teeth later though because the stench is ... *vomit*

I think the concept of 'dirty' is a made-up one and depends who you are. Personally I'd rather eat rabbit droppings (which are only part-digested grass and probably taste a bit like sauerkraut) than either tripe or snails . Each to his own, eh?

Mine are very fussy with the horse poo they eat....racehorse poo very tasty, New Forest pony poo...won’t touch it :D they obviously like quality poo  When we have the travellers on Epsom downs for the Derby they do all their business in the woods  and one day my old Springer found it....it’s actually making me gag just writing about it ...so now we wait a good few months after the Derby before we walk that way again, hoping it will have composted ;)

I have known Jasper to stand over a less than desirable cow poo - he only likes it fresh - and look at me, waiting for me to say 'leave', so he gets a reward for not eating something he had no intention of eating anyway.

Taz eats rabbit poo all the time - at least it’s organic. I don’t let her eat horse poo if I can help it, because it potentially could have wormer deposits.

My boys are terrible they eat everything, Oliver is the worse nothing better than Marleys poo! Thats why mine wear muzzles I got fed up having to clean out their mouths, I'm even trying to train Rolo to wear one as well.

@JudyN Marley doesn't anymore but Oliver can still manage it if he tries lol nothing worse when he goes in the garden with Marley then comes in with his muzzle covered  whippets can be gross!

Oh there's worse... when the poo-faced dog spots a human friend and rushes off to greet them in his usual fashion - by shoving his nose into their groin

One of 'my' dogs,( mentioning no names! ) loves to eat her own and she gets really crafty when she see's you waiting with a poo bag ready and tries to go in the most awkward place possible, up an ivy covered bank, through gaps in the woods or bushes that she thinks you can't fit through, etc.. anywhere she thinks you will struggle to follow, she gives the game away though because she starts to lick her lips just before she goes!!
