The Book of the Bitch is by J M Evans and Kay White. I should think it's available on Amazon.

I think it is an absolute necessity for anyone thinking of breeding a litter. I must have read it 10 times over, especially during the long hours waiting for Dolly to give birth to Alice and her sisters! :- "

My Bess had her first season for 5 weeks, the ones after that were normal, but the last mating only happened on the 20th day (6 pups). Other bitch mated 14 and 16 th day also had pinkish discharge for many weeks (4?) after her season should have finished. Vet checked for problem and told me there is no way she could be pregnant, 7 pups!!! :thumbsup:
