Mike,I use the Lazerlite lamp ,it's small and not bulky like some of the others.

I bought it from arthur carter's where you can also buy any part of the lamp if you happen to break it one dark and windy night.

Cheap and cheerful 4.99 rechargable lamp from Netto !!!! Lasts about an hr and you get a mains charger and car charger included. Suits me for my infrequent lamping trips.

Used to use a Blue Eye many moons ago when I had the lurchers, that was a good lamp

not sure if you can still buy them, probably a bit old fashoined now!!

used to use the lazer lamp, but I prefer to be in bed at night now!.

But if Pennymeadow gets his way i'll be walking the fields again in the dark.

LOL I remember those days well getting up the morning after to find your best lamping coat with a big hole where the acid from the battery had leaked

i use a light force 170 coupled up to a 12v 17amp bike battery. gives me around 5 hours lampin before it starts to lose power.

i use my lamps almost every night i have two types, I have a light force 170 and a cluson lazerlight twin bulb. For shooting i use the lightforce due to it's adjustable beam but for lamping with the dogs i always use the lazerlight as it's far more robust and cheaper to repair. The twin bulb lazer light is really usefull when your going over fences etc as it doesn't scare everything in the area. The battery life is also an issue i use a 12volt 7amp hour dry cell with the lazer light and it will last a good night lamping. I don't use the lightforce with the battery pack i plug it in to the landrover when i'm shooting as it eats the dry cell battery.

Another issue is the price i think the lazer light is approx £25 cheaper than the lightforce.

you must be lamping wrong mate if you need a 14amp battery pack. I use a 7amp battery and i get a good nights lamping. Plus the weight of a 14 amp battery pack and a dozen rabbits would be back breaking.

My lamp is rarely on for more than 20 seconds once my bitch has caught, off goes the lamp and she retrieves straight away. Thats how a lamping dog should work in my opinion. I never use a slip lead when lamping she stays at heel until i give her the command.

thats how i'll train my new puppy tilly she is already walking to heel off the lead and she's only 15weeks old.
