A Chasity belt for dogs in season.......

It looks quite cumbersome.

And I wouldn't trust a really determined dog not to get past it - where there's a will etc.

Damn silly get your dog neutered or take other measures during her season . This looks like another stupid contraption for people with more money than sense.

Bondage gear for dogs:emoji_astonished:

Surely any responsible owner is going to make darn sure a male dog can't approach their bitch when in season, whether by not walking her at all or only walking her on lead in quieter places and calling out to other owners they see at a distance? If you think there's a chance a dog is actually going to mount her, you're not being careful enough.

Even if marketed as (almost literally) a belt-and-braces approach, I can see people thinking it means either that they can let their bitch walk off lead amongst other dogs and not worry about the stress or potential injury to her and the other dogs, or that they can let their male dogs go up to a bitch wearing this gear and try to get it on with her.

Surely any responsible owner

and there you hit the nail on the head. such things seem to be aimed at the idiot owners who dont really give a damn but who dont want the added problem of pups. I wonder if its actually that much cheaper than just getting the dog spayed? Obviously one of these things wouldnt last a lifetime so you would have to replace it several times???

Seems a bit sexist to suggest spay the bitch but don't mention castrate the dog.
Poor females blamed for everything

Just have both male and females done, be a responsible owner. But it’s the owners choice, it calmed my two boy dogs down a great deal :)

It’s not sexist, it’s common sense, the bitch and her owner are the ones who are going to have to deal with any resulting puppies from any unplanned mating, the dog will simply walk away, You need to be responsible when you own entire dogs, ( either sex) but you are asking for trouble when walking an inseason bitch I’m public.

Regards the contraption , ridiculous .

It was tongue in cheek. My little dog is an 'accidental' mating from a someone who didn't believe his girlfriends chichuahua could possibly get his in season Bichon pregnant. He now knows better and told us both dogs would be neutered so there would not be a repeat.

Yep have to agree with JudyN, bondage gear for dogs is just plain wrong!!
And I also think that if people use this product, it may well make them think it is 'safe' to walk them in their local park because they are 'protected'.. instead of thinking 'my bitch is in season therefore I will adjust her walks accordingly..'
I go back to what I have said before, there is something very wrong with some people!

So, i can understand why some crazy people will use this but it looks really bad, and also the dog cannot feel comfortable in that! When our old dog had seasons we wouldn't walk her until 'unsociable hours'. But I do know someone who has not spayed her bitch and she uses cloth nappies. But for me the situation for Spain on Sunday, Doris has now turned 6 months so her season could come at anytime. We wont be walking her as the amount of stray animals in Spain especially in our town :(

Absolutely awful, for all the reasons mentioned above. Also, doesn't protect the bitch from a dog trying to mate with her. Which can be very stressful in itself. Also, wouldn't any poo or wee get all over it?!
