Holly our Whippet aged 11 is going down hill, she's had various treatments including teeth extraction and injections for artheritus,,(sp) she's worried us senseless at times had stopped eating and drinking before her toothypegs being done,,, we thought that was the answer... it doesn't seem to be..

All her bloods come back normal as does her pee and poo.

She's losing weight again,, we have put her back on two meals a day,, but it doesn't seem to work,, she might have a bit of breakie (scrambled egg) ,,, but then refusing to eat her evening meal..

There is no fat on here,,, my vet is at a loss, ... I need a whippet expert... I think the insurance claim is up to five hundred quid so far,,,

She is still active in the morning (most mornings) and goes out for a nice sprint with the other dogs at half six with hubby.... but then does not move for the rest of the day.. to the point that she won't even get out of bed when hubby comes in from work (they are bonded and she would always move for him).. Its a struggle to get her out for a pee during the day...

She's just not right,,, and if she continues like this,, well, its going to be very difficult to get her right.

So If anyone knows of a whippet expert... please let me know..

many thanks

Mandy

My vet is very good with my greyhounds, will pm you the details.

Thanks everyone, I've taken the details, hubby is getting anti taking her to the vets again as he doesn't want her to be messed around with anymore, which to be honest I can understand his point, I didn't think she had arthritus in the first place, but it was decided she did have and a course of treatment provided. (if you know what i mean)

She had a bad day the day before yesterday and only ate only a tiny bit of food, but yesterday she cleared a huge bowlful, mainly because there was quarter of a pound of beef dripping with it.... hey ho,, needs must and at least she wasn't sick..

hopefully we can get her to turn this corner, whatever it is thats causing the depression and she can have a good summer.

thanks again

Mandy
