Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking for one that can tackle the dog hair.

I only use dysons ...i have a cylinder ball one and a cordless one ...i have 5 dogs ....

Thanks.
We have a cordless Dyson, but it has broken twice (same part both times). I think we must just be unlucky as I know a lot of people recommend them. The other vacuum cleaner still works but fills the house with the smell of damp dog whenever we use it:confused:

Yes i prefer my Dyson cylinder hoover ..the cordless was my father in laws and comes out to clean up spills

We have a Dyson Animal upright and a Dyson cordless - the cordless is a recent addition so I can't comment on longevity, but the Animal is several years old now. Mind you, my dog doesn't moult much at all. It was my son's long hair that caused blockages till he left home.

I have tried dyson but I hated it , I now have an AEG animal.. My old Miele pet did really well for about 12 years but 3 dogs, three kids, and a husband ..the poor thing died of exhaustion.

I have a tip! Get a piece of cotton wool and put a few drops of essential oil on it then pop it in the vacuum cleaner cylinder. You might need to check whether any oils are unsafe for pets but I use lavender.

I had a Dyson some years ago when they were all the rage and I wouldn't have another one. Overpriced and overrated IMO. I now use a Shark, both a corded one and a cordless one, and would recommend them.

Thanks for the suggestions.
What a great tip @JoanneF, I will definitely try that.

Today I remembered to buy some lavender oil and have just added a few drops to the vacuum cleaner. Wow, it really works: lavender has replaced wet dog eau de parfum. If only I could hoover the dog too;)

I have always used Dyson always done the job but so heavy ,have just bought myself a Shark it works as well as my Dyson but so much easier to handle I would never go back to Dyson now :)
