Vacuum Cleaner

I have a Miele Cat & Dog.

It copes reasonably well with animal hair, having a turbo rotating brush for the carpets and various attachments for furniture. It picks up the hair with the turbo brush OK when I've groomed Stanley :- " The furniture attachments are not as good.

It's quite powerful in that when you put a new bag in it almost lifts the carpet. Good suction  . Tends to lose quite a bit when the bag starts to fill though.

I have a Dyson DC04 and an Animal, I wouldn't be without one. I vac at least once a day, usually twice and have an ever changing selection of dogs with every type of coat possible. My old DC01 is still living upstairs at my daughters, she only has carpet in one bedroom and it copes really well with the hard floors as well, She has an Animal for downstairs and loves that too.

I agree they are heavy, hence one up and one down, the DC01 and 4 have both had new hoses, but have lasted well considering the heavy use they get.

If you want a 'food' hoover then I recommend a Labrador!!! boom boom

Don't need one, I've got Hebe  No food ever reaches the floor, she catches it long before it has a chance to land :- "

Thanks for all the advice although I think now I'm more confused than ever :teehee:

The favourites so far seem to be Dyson Animal or Miele so I'll go down to the local store & have a closer look at some of them.

Of course I could just rehome the hairy lurchers & stick to non moulting Bedlingtons in future :- "

On second thoughts maybe not, one Rafferty is enough for any home
