Impressive stuff. :thumbsup: In the UK they tend to use Border Collies and springers for similar search activities (i.e. SARDA - search & rescue using dogs in the hills/moors/mountains). Impressive that whippets can achieve the same results.......Well done Schmick, Nockie and Freddie :)
 
We've sort of got two threads going on the same topic - oops, sorry! :b

Oh no I'm not! :clown: sing it to the rooftops ... I am very very VERY proud of the dogs AND their dedicated, enthusiastic trainer/handlers, Graeme and Frazer, and manager of their health/well-being/domestic bliss etc, Gail. How lucky am I to have such wonderful owners of Aslan kids!

And Cashie just wants to say he's very proud too - cause now he's the father of a show champion/BIG winner and a titled TRACKING DOG!

GSDs, Collies and GSPs are the main trackers here also Nicola. Mostly working and gun dogs are used.

I think Tracking would be a summer sport in Tassie Noelene (it would be for me at least)

You would have to toughen up a teeny bit Schmick if you wanted to compete here as Tracking is only held in Taswegia in Winter due to the bush being full of deadly snakes the rest of they year (w00t)
 
G'day all, just a little brag.

 

Today Freddie passed his TD3 with a "Good" rating at our Rockhampton Tracking Trial !

This allows us to apply for his TD (TRACKING TITLE)

 

Way to go Freddie and Frazer!

Nockie passed her TD4 with an "Excellent" rating two weeks ago. The trial was conducted at Tansey, Southern Qld., getting her off the mark in the TDX (Tracking Dog Excellent) Category.

The season has now ended for a 6 month Summer break. So all in all a very successful year for the Aslan Tracking Whippets :0)
 
Huge Congrats to my little tracking cherubs - very proud "Mumma" up here. :* :huggles: Once approved, this TD title will make Freddie only the second Whippet in Qld to gain the title, (Nockie being the first) and only the fourth in Australia (Nockie being the second). SO PROUD. :wub:

And another special congrats to Graeme, Frazer and Gail who put in all the hard work and dedication. :thumbsup: :cheers:

Well it's been a year to the day since the last update so it's about time I posted the latest.

2010 has been a very good year for Freddie. He has gone on to pass his TD4, TD5 and TD6 and gain his TDX Title (Tracking Dog Excellent). The first Whippet in Australia to do so.

Freddie has just followed this up by passing his TD7 which allows us to apply for his TRACKING CHAMPION Title.

When official he will become the first Whippet in Australia to achieve this honour and be know as

"T Ch ASLAN DIRTYSEXYMONEY"

Nockie has passed her TD5 with a "Very Good" rating and is working towards her TDX Title.

Next year Freddie will be training in the discipline of "Track and Search". Which is Tracking (finding a "lost" unknown person) on variable surfaces, urban and urban at night.

It just demonstrates how versatile whippets can be. :)

I am in awe of the work and dedication this family has put into these two whippets, and I love the way they love them.

Sir Freddie Wag-a-lot you are an absolute star!

And come on Nockie girl, you can't let him outshine you for too long....go chase that title baby!
 
I can imagine how proud you must be Lana , and also a really super well done to their owners
