Toe Amputation

Update on archie... He finally has no bandages on and is doing very well on lead walks although can tell he is dying to have a good whizz around :)

He now just has review in 1 month with greyhound vet... so he is getting there

Thanks again for all the lovely posts

Ill bet you are really relieved...what brilliant news. Good luck Archie... :luck:

That's brilliant news! My greyhound Tiny shredded his foot and had to have the big pad stitched back on and part of his toe stitched back together and after a few weeks in bandages it was all healed - no ill effects at all, it took a big longer for pad to grow back properly but you can't even see a scar now.

I'm glad you managed to get a second opinion, a month really isn't long enough to make a decision about how it's healing. :) :luck:

Absolutely, and it is certainly too early to opt for amputation. It is frightening to think that some vets would amputate without giving the dog chance to heal.

So glad Archie will be fine
