That's definitely true. What use to take me half an hour with Marley and Oliver now takes forever since Rolo has joined them he's meant to be a sighthound not a sniffer dog :)

Spike is the sniffer dog but also everything he sniffs has to be wee’d over. My dad came for a walk with us onetime and said ‘do you know Spike has done 81 wee’s so far lol. He doesn’t actually wee that many times but when he’s empty he still cocks his leg up trying to squeeze something out:rolleyes:

@Janer Spike should get on really well with Oliver and Rolo they pee on everything I mean everything Lol and the same as Spike most off the time nothing comes out just up goes the leg!:D

Ah yes, the fresh air wees, I remember those...my Jake just does the exceptionally long sniffs these days, likes to take his time and really, really, really make sure he has every bit of information he needs before he just moves on to the next smell,( generally 2 foot from the last smell!) he only wees when necessary now..:D

Haha, yep, that's me and Jimbo, stop every two steps for a sniff of something, then a wee. Seems to take more time sniffing stuff after rain too o_O

What fascinates me is if we are walking with another dog he has to wee in exactly the same place

I notice this on group walks - some places get weed on about ten times!

Gateways can be popular points - in the hot summer the area round the gate into the woods got really stinky.

There is a pathway leading into the woods that we call wee alley!

The dogs take soooooo long walking up there because they have to wee every meter :emoji_face_palm:

I even walk a female dog who will purposely run back to a spot the boys have wee’d on so she can be the last to wee on it!

I’m quite surprised how many females I walk do this, they even cock their leg!

Yep, one of my old girly yorkies used to sniff and pee like a boy, took ages to get to the park!
That having the last pee always makes me laugh too, years ago I took Jake to my friends mums house and Jake peed around the garden as they do and then her sister turned up with her dog(who was used to being at granny's) and he and Jake literally spent 20 minutes walking round and round and round this large urn, each trying to have the last pee on it, until we went 'jeeesus you two get over it' and called them in!!:D:D:D

Wilburs dad is a drugs sniffer so it's in his blood, sniffs absolutely everything bless him

I once had someone on this forum tell me that a "1-2 mile walk should be a 1-2 hour walk" and i had to express confusion because in my world those are the same thigns. bax takes FOREVER.
