Funily enough my OH and i was saying the same thing this morning, America is not renouned for having coloured people having a voice,or an opinion

I think its great, someone young, enthusiastic and unusually apears to have his own mind (and pretty sexy too :- " )...when I was in the states in April it was going election mad, I was near Chicago so obviously he was the local boy who all adored
 
I don't like him because he is black but I like him because he is a Democrat and a good orator. (I don't dislike him because he is black either.)

My American son said MacCain is a good bloke but playing for the wrong team :lol:

That doesn't read well pauline...but I think I get the message that you DO like him because he is a Democrat and a good orator...not because of any other reason :thumbsup:
 
why is everyone going on saying hes black .when he isnt he is mixed race ,brought up by his white mother and grandmother.calling him black is dismissing all those people who are mixed race.and dont see themselves as black.plus i would have voted for him :thumbsup:

Yea that's what I meant Clair, which is why I added the bit in brackets, but that probably made it sound even worse. :lol:

Like Controversal says though, he isn't black but mixed race.

I am thrilled with our new US President! Hopefully our country can finally unite and earn respect from the rest of the world ; things that have been lacking in the past 8 years!
 
He seems like a decent bloke, but I've not heard him say anything that makes me feel he's got any substance..... am reserving judgement though - will wait to see what he actually does in office

That said he's a helluva lot better than MacCain and that scary Palin woman - I really would've worried with those 2 having a finger on the button (w00t)
 
Have removed one or two posts that people felt were a bit racist and therefore against board rules :thumbsup:
