I hardly ever look to see who has posted on " The Dog Cafe".
I'm sorry that you have had such a worrying few days, but it all sounds a bit more manageable now:rolleyes:.

Some of our girls get swollen boobies around the 9 week stage after a season, we don't play with the boobies or squeeze them to see if there is any milk, (extracting milk often makes more). Boobies always go back to normal, we have never worried or had anything any worse. In general, we would not consider this a reason to spay, it seems quiet a normal process and life goes on.

Thank you dear....Eva is feeling now much better and as she has been 'resting'....'ahem' :rolleyes: almost a week now, her mobility has improved a lot already. What happened other day; OH took other 3 for 'proper' walk to the forest and as it is rather hilly around there, I took Eva to accompany me to the allotment...thinking she can plod around while I do my stuff. Yeah.....that went well....keeping her 'calm' is quite a thing to achieve. She was playing with balls on her own...leaping and rolling around.....digging holes...running to tell birds off :rolleyes: ...but at least she was on level ground and not having that bit of extra pressure on her knee. Even she tried to dig herself out of allotment, our terrier proof new fencing indeed seem to work, YAY for that :D
As I was going back home...there is only 3 yards wide 'gap' from allotment gate to our home garden gate...I put the lead on (we are not allowed having dogs off lead on the communal avenues) and was heading out. As soon as we we were on avenue, she yanked herself backwards and managed to get her head out of her new collar....and she was off like a bullet :eek: She blasted forward on the avenue...taking the route we often walk together so I headed opposite direction in a hope to meet her on the other end of the loop. And yes, that is exactly what she did...took herself for a rather speedy walk, running towards me like there was fire burning her bottom...Linford Christie would have been proud of that performance...:rolleyes: After that stunt she has been last couple of days having most boring time of her life!! She was little stiff day after her run but seem to be back to walking better again. Friday we are going to see different vet...not because I don't trust the first opinion but knowing that there is going to be operation ahead, this second place we are registered is generally little more affordable, though it is little further away to travel. So that's that for the 'latest'. The good thing is that I've got my spuds planted....finally!!:D

Well....we've just been for a follow up appointment and Eva's UTI has cleared nicely....BUT...I'm not quite so happy anymore of this same vet we've now seen twice. This new vet is only concerned getting Eva over her false pregnancy and she has already spoken about hormonal treatments etc. I had to explain to her that other than her boobies are little bit big, she is not suffering with her 'fb'...nor she has any behavioural changes or does mothering etc. But no...I couldn't get through that to her. :mad:
But she never mentioned about her issue with her leg that I really went there in a first place! I had to ask about that and she gave very vague overall answer which told me that she didn't even check or remember that issue. So now we are going to different vets for a second opinion and see what they have got to say about her 'case'. Once the doubt has set in...it is hard to trust that person anymore. That's enough of my whinging...:rolleyes:
Friday we'll go for another check up for the other vets...that is more of a 'country vets' that do farm animals etc and have much larger facilities to do everything there...in case we do need the operation, there is no need for referral then. ;)
 
Finsky, you have my sympathies. That’s terrible. It’s one thing to be caught on the hop but worse to bluff one’s way through the issue. No wonder you’ve lost fait in the individual. Hope there’s a much better outcome.

Sorry, I meant “No wonder you’ve lost FAITH in the individual”. Yours as anally retentive as usual, RGC.
 
Sitka is back from his first trip to the groomers: all clean and tidy and sporting a bandana. What's the betting he will find some fox poo to roll in this evening?

But of course! Bit of 'natural odour' is essential finish off such a luxury treatment. Aw....he looks lovely.
BTW...did he behave himself at the groomers?
 
I hope you get the answers you’re looking for @Finsky - totally agree about loosing faith with vets. You know your dog the best and you should be listened to.
 
Finsky, thank goodness you have the option of the farm vets, who are much more used to animals being animals. All the best with the consultation.

She said he was fine with the big dryer that some pups are scared of but didn't like his paws touched so the claw clipping was hard; we need to do some training on paws before next time. He is yet to find anything stinky to roll in.
