There is a bus with 7 K9 members on it

Each of the 7 members carries 7 bags

Inside each bag there is 7 whippets

Every whippet has 7 pups

All dogs have 4 legs each

Question: How many legs are in the bus?

:blink:

:blink: :wacko: give me a day to work it out (w00t)

that's about how long it took me :cheers:

just thought I would give the 'brains trust' on here a workout :teehee: ;) :teehee:

With the help of a calculator, which gave me a different answer each time I tried - how about 9604?

7 k9ers = 14 legs

7 whippets = 28legs

28X7=196

196 x7 = 1372

so 7 k9 with 7bags each and 7 whippets in each = 1388

7pups = 28legs x 7 whippets = 196

x7bags= 1372

1372x7k9= 9604

9604+1388 = 10992

or 10994 if the bus driver is on the bus

I think its this

7 X K9 MEMBERS X 2 = 14

7 X WHIPPETS IN THE CARRIER BAGS X 4 = 28

It does not state that the pups which the 7 whippets have are in the bags it just says each one has 7 pups, so the answer is

42

OR

The answer is a bus doesnt have legs (w00t) (w00t)

2 answers to this

1,as a riddle there is no legs as a bus has wheels

2,as a maths puzzle the answer is 10990 :p

I guess JESSE was not on the bus then as he only has 3 legs :lol:

As for the answer i can't be bothered :- "

My brain is hurting from this but the answer that opens the puzzle that I was sent (from someone in Aberdeen!) is 10,990 so good maths guys :cheers:

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round................. :lol: :lol:

Every whippet has 7 pups

Assuming the pups are also in the bag then there are 7 x 7 pups = 49 pups

49 pups with 4 legs each = 49 x 4 = 196 legs

All dogs have 4 legs each

Question: How many legs are in the bus?

As there is no mention that there is a driver on the bus, and assuming all the whippets puppies are on the bus then:

Total legs = 14 + 28 + 196 = 238 legs

YOU MISSED THE BIT THAT SAYS EACH MEMBER CARRIES 7 BAGS WHICH MEANS EACH MEMBER CARRIES 7 WHIPPETS SO THE MAKES 48 WHIPPETS AND THE 48 LITTERS OF 7 :sweating:   :p

well spotted Katie. 8)

It is suprisingly difficult to arrive at the correct answer. :thumbsup:

I know I've seen this before somewhere!

I keep going over it and, rightly or wrongly, have come up with the following ....

7 x K9 members: 7 x 2 = 14 K9 member legs

7 bags: 0 legs

7 x whippets in each bag: 7 x 7 = 49 x 4 = 196 whippet legs

Each whippet has 7 pups: 49 x 7 = 343 x 4 = 1372 puppy legs

TOTAL LEGS 14 + 196 + 1372 = 1582

??????????????????????????????????????? :unsure: :unsure: :unsure: (w00t)
