Hi. Hope you are all well.
We are using Plaquoff (a powder added to the dogs food) to rid plaque from her teeth. Whilst it has done a decent job, her canine teeth are not entirely free from stains. I don't want the gingivitis to develop. We have a doggie toothbrush and a paste that she likes. What is the recommended method to keep her calm whilst brushing? Does one person hold her head? I look forward to your replies.

And/or taking it slow.

I started with a piece of rough weave cloth over my finger first, and just a quick touch of the toothpaste working up to rubbing gently. We now use a toothbrush and he knows ”open wide”. I always use the same pattern so he isn't taken by surprise, outside right, outside left, inside right, inside left.

You might also have to try a few toothpastes to find one your dog likes. Mine isn't fussy in the slightest but he spat a few out.

I will start by saying my two dogs in avatar was very steady dogs when it came to teeth brushing, so for me best method was very quick and no messing, in quick do wants needed and out, most dogs that I clean for I do the same, in, out , all done, just lucky I suppose.

Oh what a good boy.:D
I really couldn't imagine any of our lot allowing that to be done:eek:
