Lots of positive thoughts to Tarka from all here too! He has been through so much recently that I really hope he does'nt have to have another op...but it's what is best for him that matters the most. :huggles: :luck: :huggles:
Poor Tarka, it brought tears to my eyes seeing the pic of him trying to walk with his poor little leg. it's so heartbreaking to see an animal hurt or ill and unlike a human you can't explain to them what is going on.
Wishing him lots of luck :luck: :luck: hope he gets on well at the vets and fingers crossed that he doesn't need an operation, he's been through enough already.
Thank you for all your kind wishes, they are much appreciated!
Tarka has now had his xray and has come round from the Gen Anaesthetic okay.
The vet has called and said he can see the problem.
There is a prominent pirce of bone from the pelvic bone which is sticking into the femur. This is likely to be causing the problems. He said it will need more invasive
surgery than last time as he will have the go through a muscle to get to the area.
I am going in at 5pm to collect Tarka and the vet is getting our some books and models to show me what he proposes to do. (He is very thorough and has a resuce lurcher so he is keen on whippets too)
I am not sure when Tarka will have to undergo the surgery, I am told it will cost in the region of £1400 as before but as far as I am concerned it is worth every penny if Tarka recovers well after this.
poor lad, i'm sure it will be such a releif for him when the bit of bone is removed and stop digging in, he's been so brave  wishing him a speedy recovery after his op, :luck:
