Sweeney Todd

I saw it last night and it's brilliant. Johnny Depp is amazing as ever and Helena Bonham Carter is  absolutely brilliant too. I was lucky enough to see Sweeny Todd on stage years ago so I knew what I was getting in for in terms of the story and music, but I think lots of the people in our packed theatre didn't know it would be so bloody and a musical but the buzz was good so I think they enjoyed it.
It is very, very gory and I had to keep my eyes closed for the throat slitting bits (there are lots  :x ) but on the whole it's a fantastic experience so go and see it.  :thumbsup:

havent seen benny and joon jill but its my friends fave film and ive still not seen cry baby.i loved depp in edward scissorhands.so vunerable and full of pathos

Oh, you've gotta get hold of Benny and Joon - it is great - Depp's character is very reminiscent of Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin. I wasn't blown away by Cry Baby but it's a bit of light hearted fun.
