Does any body know of a good slug killer that isn't harmful to dogs, or another remedy that might work, (bloody slugs are massive in my garden) ;) di

oh my god di!!!!

dont let them slimy buggers eat your plants!!!

Put beer in yoghurt pots sunk in the ground where they lurk. I am sure it is something to do with Cornwall being a damp place that makes this slug heaven. Some of them are HUGE. Yuk.

PLAIN OLD SALT DOSE THE TRICK ! CHEEP AS CHIPS TOO :D

Yes, but it leaves such a horrible mess to clear up, at least with the beer you can tip the dead ones onto the compost heap

Do they drink themselves to death on the beer, Ann??

I've used salt to kill them before but never heard of the beer trick

I'm going to try the beer trick, salt makes them froth up and then the dogs bring it in on their feet. :x can't some body find a use for them and then i could make some money. thanks folks for the replies. ;)

I'll have to buy a can, can't stand the stuff, good old wine drinker me, oh yes and vodka & Red bull. di

www.greengardener.co.uk sells stuff called nemaslug I used it a couple of years back with good effect. I am going to get some more this year as I have loads of slugs in my garden as well!!!!!

We seem to be over run too.... we have been going out at night with a tourch and a bag full of salt and putting them into it.

Tie a knot at the to of the bag once you are done and pop it in the bin....... until the following night when you go on slug patrol again

The slug pellets don't seem to be doing much to deter them on the flower beds and they seem to be multiplying at a super fast rate

I must admit that we only used tesco value lager ... can't waste the good stuff.... the vet just laughed when I rang him

A tricky one, finding a lid that keeps whippets out and lets slugs and snails in

Haven't tried the beer yet,(on the slugs) forgot to go out and buy a can, :b better luck today, pouring with rain here today, more slug attacks tonight i feel. di

for slug traps have a look in ur nearest pound shop, i get 2 traps for a pound they r a 4 inch pot with a raised lid on them that the slugs can get into. i use bitter as its got a stonger smell and attracts them quicker, they get drunk fallin and drown...except for a few hardcore slugs that started living in the lids...i think they were jordies lol.

Will have a look in the shops, but i love the last line, di

I don't think these Cornish slugs like BECKS beer  I've had the trap out for two nights now and I've only caught about 20 baby slugs  should i try a different beer.??

or what about some Vodka & Red Bull, maybe a little sign saying, SLUG PARTY HERE TONIGHT, FREE BEER  No i haven't gone mad, just in a happy mood.di
