Sorry if last message seemed abrupt but am new to this and have tried to post several times but somehow managed to mess it up!! I have just joined and love all the pics etc and the newer ones just appear, but I want cant seem to bring up one from April and think it is probably simple, but am obviously doing something wrong!! Any help gratefully received. ;)

Hello Deb.

Not 100% sure but the pics may not be on the posters system anymore therefore missing. I could be totaly wrong with that comment but it is if you are uploading and image from the internet web space.

to add a pic from your computer just click on the Browse button, find the folder of the pic, click on the pic then click open. Once you have finished your post then click on the add reply / post and hey presto it should work.

If that don't work your pic could be over 75k. you would then need to re-size your picture.

Dave

Thanx for replying Dave and am being really thick, but where is the browser button??!!

Deb I think perhaps that a lot of the photos may have been "lost" when Nigel had to change servers in May. But I'm sure he will tell us if this so.

Hi Deb,iv'e got the same problem, frustrating isn't it!! I guess the pics have been lost somehow :(

Cheers,Debbie

Thanx

I'm not sure who Nigel is, other than I believe he also goes by the name of GOD :teehee: o:)

If you can help me Nigel, I'd be really grateful :D :D

If you can remember what the post with the picture in was about and it hasn't been lost, you could always try searching for the post with the search facility at the top of the page thats how I've found old pics in the past

Cheers

Steve

I'm pretty certain that all of the old photos got lost when we changed to the new server.

What dogs photo or photos do you want to see? If you tell us then if it's one of our dogs (and perish the thought that we'd put a photo of someone else's on here) we'll repost it or one of us should be able to redirect you to the dogs owner. It's worth a try.

I think that there's maybe some problem over photos taken at shows. Hell we had ones of Lyd's bum for example. ;) Wouldn't want to see that again would we. :p

Might get accused of deliberately taking photos of dogs  sorry people when they were stood all untidy in a non show stance. Like one of Dessie and Millie eating chips for example. They are very messy eaters let me tell you folks! Not a pretty sight! Especially when they are trying to make sure that Lyd doesn't nick any of them.

Won't talk about the time when I was eating a tuna bagette and the tuna and mayo squished out down my front. Or the time that I was eating a fried egg roll with loads of tomato ketchup. .... Nope better not mention that.

ps I wouldn't mind people complaining if they were actually on the internet. It's all this I've been told that stuff... And the Chinese Whispers that have obviously happened. People get hurt over that kind of thing.

I don't think the pictures from the old posts were lost - I think there were just too many to upload to the new server. Nigel still has them backed up and could probably dig around and find a particular one (although I imagine it would be easier for the person who posted it originally to repost it!).

Deb - if you go to the thread you are interested in and post a reply to it then it will move it to the top of the forum and then people will know which thread it is you're interested in!

People believe any thing they are told .

I've so wanted to comment on both aricles in Our Dogs and Dog World but because no-one else did I thought maybe there was some reason I did not know about. All I want to say is that K9 has helped me come to terms with the death of my last whippet. He actually died in circumstances similar to Mouse. He died at the veterinary hospital near us in the veterinary nurse's arms. I felt responsible for the fact that he had eaten something and felt I should have been more attentive to what he was doing.

For a long time I just could not contemplate having another dog despite being born into a family who actively showed dogs and being involved myself for many years.

I just felt I had let him down.

I went to Crufts this year and not long after discovered K9. It's been wonderful

to feel a part of the whippet world once again. After reading both sets of breed notes I wanted to tell these people that it's not like that. It probably brings the many facets of whippet owners together in a way no other breed organisation does.

When people have success the success is shared, when they have sadness that too is shared. I can't believe I'm writing all this but maybe it is the final stage I need to go through.

I now feel ready to have a show puppy again but I know the first people I'll tell are those of K9 and not the breed note writers of Our Dogs and Dog World.

I'm sorry to have gone on and it's probably not the right place but I just had to write it.

Thanks everone,

Jenny

Thankyou Jenny , for sharing that with us .

For me that is what K9 is about , helping other people wether they have whippets or not .

Even i dont know everything ( yes I know thats hard to believe ,but its true !!)

I like to see who`s winning and what puppies are coming out , pet puppies and show pups . A whippet for me is the best breed in the world ( very close up. GH `s )

Letters in the Dog press will never stop being saying what they think , wether its in print or not .

Just play fair is all I ask

Dear All,

I think in my previous post I mistakenly stated that the two pieces I had read were in Our Dogs and Dog World when in-fact they were possibly both in Dog World. I apologise if I have quoted the wrong information and am sorry if

I have offended anyone, that is the last thing I wanted to do.

In mitigation I found the piece difficult to write and was very upset as I wrote it

but that is no excuse for not getting my facts straight. Unfortunately I have discarded my previous issues so cannot check but am sure the information I have received is correct.

I apologise once again.

Jenny

:D Yes Jenny they were both in Dog world.......... last weeks made me feel really awefull :( because I had posted a lot of photos on here from shows....... that I though members would enjoy seeing, when not attending the shows. Saddly I feel I cannot do this any more :(

But I would like to add I think we are a nice group of people on here and I would be lost with out my daily fix of K9

I took some nice photo's at East of England but am worried about posting them now :(

I always enjoy seeing pics of the dogs at shows,is this going to be a thing of the past now? I hope not!!

I think K9 is brilliant! It has opened up the world of whippets to me(being a newcomer to the breed) be it showing, racing, coursing or just general chit chat.It has proved to be full of useful information & I have also made some wonderful new friends.

LONG MAY IT CONTINUE!!!
