Hi Guys,
Me and Gail took Rax down to Tràigh Mhòr, beach. Our local spot About 5 min car ride away.
Here is a pic i took from flying lesson.
Anyway. we walked / ran on the sand from the wee cove by the car park, until we got to the main beach and then it was off lead time to see how he would cope. Well he did very well, so long as one of us had an extra ball or stick!!! which was more interesting than seaweed and sand. He didn't like the waves getting his feet wet. Any ideas on getting them to like the sea??? and he went mental on the sand. Very funny indeed. after 15min or so we walked back to the wee cove bit that has a small meandering burn that starts at the car park as a trickle and widens out over the sand to sea. So we decided to throw a few things in to encourage him to go in, he did a bit but really is a pansy about getting his feet wet, It's hard enough to walk over the wet path to get to the garden for a pee. he did manage to get wet legs, tummy and head etc and then ran around and got totally encrusted with sand. I was surprised he could see as his poor wee eyes were all covered in sand so i got him back and had to wash him at the top of the stream next to the car park, bless he looked totally mortified with me splashing water in his eyes to wash the sand out and rubbing his belly. Anyway got him in the car and dried off with a towel and then he managed to sleep a 30 mile round trip to Stornoway in the boot of the car. What a good boy. He had his 2nd shots yesterday and the vet was very impressed at his health and weight. He put on 1.65Kg in 2 weeks. Now he is 5.4kg and 13weeks old on Thursday. We also managed to get a dog barrier for the boot of the car so he doesn't have to travel in his crate. He seems to enjoy it and lolls over the rail, slobbering as he doesn't like the car too much yet.
Just though't I'd update you all. Should have a few more pics too. None of the beach though. Didn't think that puppy V Sand V Dslr would work too well...
