Puppy toilet training regression

Hello,

We have a collie - lab cross. We’re not 100% sure on age but we think she’s between 16-18 weeks now.

she did really well with toilet training and we got to the point of almost no accidents apart from When she was over excited. The last week she reverted to peeing all over the house- not just by the back door-all floors, bed, sofa. It’s odd as she had never peed on the sofa or bed before even when we first got her!

we’ve ruled out medical reasons I think as she sleeps through the night in her crate from around 10.30 through to 7am without any accidents.

anyone Got any advice or tips on how to get her back on track with peeing outside?

is this normal for puppies? We have an older lab (8 years) and we don’t recall having this issue with her!

Sometimes puppies do regress, often it's our fault because we think housetraining is going really well and we take our eye off the ball.

If you think it is more than normal, pop a sample into the vet. But otherwise, go back to a really regular schedule and make sure you are praising and rewarding immediately when the outside toilet happens.

And hard as it is, try to show no reaction to any indoor accidents. Some dogs think you are cross because they have toileted, as opposed to toileting INDOORS so they sneak off when you’re not watching.

Pups have small blatters and bowels like kids but daiper not a option for a dog, unless you cat toilet train. Get up earlier or go out later for the night. I dont think a breed has to do with it. Any animal doesnt dirty up there sleeping place.

Not by choice. But when the puppy needs to toilet, she has to toilet - and if she is in a crate she will have no choice but to do it in there.
