Hi folks. I have a friend who has a 3 month old male pup, he was born with a heart murmur, it was detected during his first vet check for vaccinations, the vet said it's extremely bad and he's surprised the pup has lasted this long. He needs the scans and tests as soon as possible to investigate and work out if it's worth trying surgery or if he's just an unlucky pup and there isn't much hope.

Can anyone recommend a good place to get these tests done? We're in Lincolnshire but I can drive them a reasonable distance if required. Cost is a consideration, Brian the pup is currently on GoFundMe as the owner has no savings or family to help.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I would get a second opinion before going into great costs. Having had a murmer most of my life, also had horses with slight ones have managed to

live a more or less normal life. If it is very bad then you may have to rethink.. Hope all is well

The vet that diagnosed the condition should know of the best places to refer to. I am in Norfolk and we would probably be sent to either Cambridge Vet School or Animal Health Trust at Newmarket.
