poor charlie has cut his pad very badley on glass i think :( took him to the vets and she stapled the cut together yuck!! she put a lovely dressing on which lasted 5 mins when we got home, any ideas on keeping a dressing on a 6 month old puppy, with an 11 month old puppy aslo 'helping' to take it off  i put a sock on and he pulled it straight off and chucked it out of his bed (w00t) is it safe to leave it with nothing on  our garden is all paved and gravel so it is cleaner then grass, any advice :D

teena i promise i will ring you about ringcraft nextweek :b

hi mel  poor charlie not much advice as i am haveing same problem with harvey he has one due claw still left on and cut a nice hole in his other leg with it . it

is scabbing but every time he and lola play fight he knocks the scab off . so with oh working at the hospictal he has got me some micropore which is doing the trick . so that might work but ask your vet first if its ok to use . harvey has managed to get all the other stuff off that i have tryed but not this :p

I had a Border Collie pup with a torn pad and was given strict orders by his breeder that I should not let the vet stitch the pad as they never stay covered and/or stitched. Just bathed his pad in salty water for 10 days and you wouldn't know there had ever been a problem - main points are to keep it clean and dry and the less there is on the foot to worry the dog the better. Hope this helps.
