My 7 year old St Bernard started drinking excessively over a period of a month or so and we took him to the vet to be checked. Blood tests were undertaken with results coming back negative for diabetes, kidney failure etc. We were so happy. This was around two and a half weeks ago. However, just after this his appetite waned and for about a week or so has hardly ate a thing despite desperately trying everything. We returned to the vet who suspects cancer. They want us to undertake full imaging under general anaesthetic. It will cost £1000. We don’t have insurance anymore after fallout with insurance company but will find the money. The vet said it isn’t anything he may of ate or drank outside the home. His symptoms are not eating, drinking excessively, lethargic, sleeping a lot, uninterested, diahorreha

Has anyone any advice or similar situation. So upset and worried. Need guidance. Thanks

I am sorry to hear about your boy ...I have no advice other than that if it is cancer what would you do ....would you commence treatment...if you can afford it maybe a good idea to have the scans then at least you will know what you are dealing with and make a plan to give your boy a quality of life ....please keep us updated...will be thinking of you xx

Heart goes out to you! I can only make a suggestion that you research as much as you can about natural remedies! Get as much into him as possible to re-balance his system, boost the immune system, and note all the pain control you might require. Modern methods have their place, but TBH, there is NOTHING replacing our bodies own way to heal, and if it is cancer, remember this - it is a rouge cell that reproduces incorrectly and multiplies excessively! If you can re-balance you stand a chance to slow down or stop these changes. Wish you all the best.
