Only just realised what OH stands for!

Maybe there should be a dictionary created for those of us who don't know what on earth people are talking about!

I'm sure lol used to mean lots of love..didn't it??!! My daughter says everytime she sees me on my phone(which I only use for text, calling or taking pictures,) I am scowling at it, understandably I think.. Anyway I still reckon life was a lot nicer and easier before mobile phones and computers, can't see anything wrong with good old pen and paper myself or looking up things in a book ... and yes I know I am on the computer now but it is under protest:p

Ah, but it would be tricky to run a forum using pen and paper ;)

Txtspk is a gr8 for people who are as slow at typing on their phone as I am. I do wish people would read what they've written before sending when using predictive text though. Just yesterday on another forum someone suggested to another member who was having health issues that they should insult a doctor :D

Aaaah this is funny! Lol! :p
As far as I know lol has always been laugh out loud.
I've got to be honest, I much prefer to just spell words correctly, never been a fan of 'text talk' and I'm only 25!

Lot's of love, definatly, that's why it never makes any sense!

I don't even like using ok, have to use okay!
Another one I'm not sure about is IMO, what does that mean?

Yes please:D:rolleyes: I've already suggested that!

Maybe we better start a dictionary :D

I was wondering about that, but suspect it would be quicker for people to Google a term such as TEOTWAWKI, or something like "list forum abbreviations" - the first hit there takes you to here, which lists loads: Acronym List To find the dictionary you'd have to come out of the post you're reading, navigate to a different section of the forum, find the thread, look up the abbreviation, then go back to where you were (or have the forum open in two tabs or something). But people like to work in different ways so maybe some would prefer a list on the forum itself (which they could bookmark).

Maybe everyone needs to learn 3 a week and I’l do a test at the end of the week :D:D:p:p

There are some really hilarious auto-correct errors on the internet if you search for them. I won't link them here as some are a bit rude, albeit unintentionally, but I remember reading some of them and crying with laughter.

This happens to me all of the time!

One of them was when I went to collect two dogs for a walk and noticed their cat sat in the sink in the utility. There was no cat flap and the door was closed so I wanted to double check that he was meant to be in there. So my text was meant to say...

“ Hello, your cats sat in the sink in the utility, is that ok?”

What autocorrect said...

“ Hello, your cats shat in the sink in the utility, is that ok?”

She replied saying, “ Oh, he is quite old now so he does do things like that from time to time! “
