Novice Racing Near Newbury

I'm thinking of racing my 17 month old bitch.  We are both complete novices and are not members of an association.

I'd be grateful if someone could point us in the right direction as to who to contact / what we will have to do.

Great decision to start racing!:cheesy:  I would think your nearest club would be Oxford Pedigree Whippet Racing Club.  It is run by Pete and Pam Spokes who are both very friendly and helpful.  The club runs at a place called Horspath, and it is very easy to find.  Your best bet would be to give Pete a ring - I don't like to post peoples phone numbers without their consent, so if your email is listed, I'll email you the number.  If not, feel free to email me for the number.  There's an open this weekend at Cotheridge near Worcester if you fancy a trip out.  After racing they will be pleased to let you give your dog a run.  Racing starts at 12.00pm, and will likely finish around 5.00pm.  It's a good day out to come and watch, there's around 100 dogs running.  Hope to see you there!
