Looks like Woolworths have definitely gone under...and MFI....wonder who will be next in this Credit crunch.

I have really happy teenage memories shopping in Woolworths..for makeup etc.

Mine were Sky Blue plastic, then i got a glass

Yes its a real shame for Woolworths...suppose with the likes of Argos opening and lots more Bargain type stores...they just cant compete any more...

I think my space hopper probably came from Woolies... :thumbsup: and yes I had clackers too Anne..

firkins has also gone under most people from my school buy there sandwiches for lunch from there or a pastie to eat on the way home.

i heard this on the radio this morning

they also said they the company that owns pc world, dixons and comet/currys(cant remember which one) is also in big trouble, it was like 50million in debt

its sad i like woolies, we have got a big one along the road (Big W) and i was massive but every year the seem to loose a wee bit space, but this year its down to half is original size, now we know why

It's a bit scary reading about about all this debt, and shops closing. It's sad about Woollies although I rarely shop there, only for DVD's occasionally. My OH's mum loves woollies and usually finds a bargain. She bought us some patio chair covers last time for a song. She'll be very upset.
